These popped up on my radar for a cool runabout the other day. I’ve seen them before but didn’t know what they were and after working on a Figaro I was hunting for quirk. The Perodua can be picked up cheap. One sold on eBay at the weekend for £221 with MOT. I’ve found a company on Instagram in Malaysia that does the front end conversion for £180. And now I have ideas floating around 🤔

I'd rather have a proper import Daihatsu. There is all kinds of engines, some turbo and 4wd I had a Mira Classic Turbo 4WD years ago, great little car

I bought a few years ago a Cuore automatic for my wife. One day I picked it up while she was at work. I had the windows tinted and black stripes over the middle of the car put on. She was a bit surprised when she saw her little car but loved it. This gave me more confidence and one day I picked it up again and had the exhaust replaced with one that was a bit bigger and we left the cat out. The same story with the wheels. I bought a nice set of alloys to finish it all of. We had the car for 3 years and loved it. Unfortunately we really did outgrow the car and had to move it on. We still look so now and then at Cuore's and we might buy one one day if a good deal comes our way. They are just so much fun.

Are this generation 4x110 PCD or 4x100?
There's a lot of cool quad wheels in 4x110!

To run, yes very cheap To insure yes very cheap too, but we get 70% discount etc after many years of making no claims Not in Australia. Tax/registration is in brackets. 3&4 cylinder cars are about $600 a year 5&6 about $800 etc (all give or take) so a large 4 cylinder car costs on rego the same as a Cuore

I do think one day in this nearish future I will have one - with a Gino 'mini' front clip and combined mechanical bits from a YRV turbo / and 4x4 Terios. I dream a lot, but that thing would be amazing.

Rather frustratingly, for such a small economical car, they don't fall into the cheapest tax brackets. Looks like £120- £155 depending on which version.

Yeah I looked that up and was a little annoyed at the £120 tax price but reckon if it’s cheap to insure and put fuel in that will offset the price ✌🏼
