So that’s the end of the road for one escort van Always feel a bit guilty scrapping a motor But this one really is rotten underneath, when we removed the side skirts The sills were absolutely hanging But at least we have all the parts we needed for our one The scrapper is off to the metal recyclers tomorrow, that’ll keep the Mrs happy!

don't forget to get as many little trim bits/screws and odds and ends as you can fit in a small box. Always a nightmare trying to get hold of stuff like that.

Bonnet bump stops, door wind deflectors, wiper arms, wiper motor, door strikers, screws, side repeaters, Seat Belts, Locking fuel cap the list could be endless all things you will have trouble finding in the future and don't take up a lot of space to store.

Ha, funny how we all think alike. I was looking at the scrapper van and thinking: wings, windscreen, wipers and linkage, etc. May as well break out the angle grinder and cut the side panels off whilst I'm there.... No idea why my OH thinks I have shed loads of useless tat! Keep up the good work George, can't wait to see the respray.

George was working at his Saturday job today So I popped round to mate Andy’s to help body prep Couple of pics, Andy applying a small amount of body correction paste! Oh come on it’s an old ford ...surely nobody expected no filler! Andy isn’t keen on using it so there’s minimal filled repairs on the rear panels The Doors and whole front end. Are filler free

Due to the bodgers out there filler has a bad reputation with it applied over rust / rot perforations - used for making good structural defects & for disguising deep panel damage where the panel should have either been replaced or worked to achieve a better profile. Used correctly for reprofiling panels there is nothing wrong with the use of filler - I really don't know of any extensively restored car that has not seen filler applied to it in order to produce the right results.
