So today I had a good few hours to myself George at work at the garage until two Wife at work and youngest Amy at Saturday kids club most of the day So I got the van out gave that a quick clean Then set about George’s burgundy fiesta again, just another polish over and had a check over for it’s forthcoming mot Think this one is going to be sold on by him to fund another project The red fiesta got a clean up as I’m using it to commute at the moment I also stripped down a bmx bike my good pal Rick gave my daughter as he has recently moved and it was surplus to requirements! Amy has asked for it to be sprayed pink So I set about the job today It’s prepared and masked ready for a rattle can paint job tomorrow And enjoyable few hours without interruption, nice!

On paper, a red Fiesta on white BBS rims shouldn't be that good, but it is!

So this morning I decided to get the van out of hibernation ready to move down to my pals workshop ready for the engine change very soon Now this would seem any easy five minutes work?? Factor in a 51 year old man still enjoying the Xmas food and beer With a tight garage to manoeuvre the now dead batteryed van out of As young George is away for a few days I had to squeeze my Xmas belly along the wall and push the van out onto the driveway No easy task when your unfit and full of Turkey and stuffing! The quick charger would Not do its job and I reckon at least two glow plugs are down Managed to get it down the driveway and jump started it off one of the fiestas Then I thought to myself why did I not just switch over a battery off one of the other cars??? Obviously not thinking properly due to excess alcohol over the holidays Finally got it running and will be running it down over the next few days to begin the transplant

See - That just confirms my OCD CSS status (cant stop still) no matter how well you stock the beer fridge - load the gin bar and lay the endless supply of delicious food on - 2 days in and I'm bored rigid and heading back to the workshop

its a pity you so far away. I just acquired a ford KA without motor. that old diesel lump should fit in and make it a rather frugal shopping trolley.

So we’ve come to a bit of a crossroads with the van We have a lot going on here with four other cars And the van has sat in the garage , the engine transplant has been on hold due to both my work commitments and George’s work and college commitments Undecided whether to sell or leave it for a while longer I know full well I personally would regret selling it so much work has gone into it so far And George’s knowledge has grown phenomenally since we started this build We now have to make a joint decision sell or get on with engine swap , plenty to ponder over the next month or so

I would say.....
Try look at it all in the cold light of day.
Do not be emotionally attached to any car. Just enjoy them, till the time comes to move them on.
If the price is right, sell it on and create the next memorable car.
Regardless, best of luck at making the right decision for the two of you.

Do what feels right, but don't make a decision straight away. I don't need to say it, but these winter months can make you feel this way about things, but obviously I don't know what else you've been dealing with. If you've got the engine, maybe do the swap and see how it goes (no pun intended). Its reminded me of when I sold my mini. Id had a spate of doing one repair after another over a couple of months, I simply got the hump with it and sold it. Big mistake.

Decision firmly made, back on track thanks to me pal Rick talking sense into me this week We can’t sell it , the engine conversion is on soon Today I had a swap around of wheels, quite like these better pics tomorrow when I have a move around of cars
