I have a 2003 Chrysler grand voyager diesel which I no longer need. They only fetch a few hundred pounds via online auction sites but as it does run and drive I’m reluctant to just scrap it as I thought someone could get use from it even just in parts?
The uk Chrysler forum is fairly inactive so pointless putting on there and I’m sure with Ebay you can’t give an item away can you?
Suggestions please

Local freegle/freecycle group? Gumtree? On here? Just make sure the paperwork is done properly regardless of 'price'....

Gumtree Freebies is a good shout - I helped someone get rid of a K10 Micra that had been standing for 3 years for free over in the sale section on here too.
I'd rather put it on here for someone to make use of it than an eBay scrounger getting it and selling it on for profit. I'd have it myself if you weren't so far.

THanks for the suggestions - I’d much rather ‘sell’ it for free on here but the for sales only run to a Y refg don’t they? Although I’ll pop an ad on and see how it goes
I’ll try gumtree too
Thanks all

Leave it at the end of your driveway with "free to a good home" written on it. If no one takes it, put a small value on it and someone will doubtlessly lift it within a day.

It could go to a much better use rather than just advertise it for free and someone then take it literally because of the fact that it's 'free'
So why not try the local secondary schools / collages around you whom maybe be able to utilise it in the motor vehicle technology classes or do a quick on line search to see if there are any young person / youth based motoring schemes local to you that utilise donated vehicles for educational classes and in turn generate motoring interest with the younger generation - lastly most fire services will willingly take vehicles like this off your hands for training purposes - ok it will get the roof cut off it and some stuffed dummies rescued from it but it all goes to the training of real life situations - any of what I mentioned above has got to be a better end use of the vehicle rather than just someone taking it for the sake of the fact that it's free!

do the fire service still take unwanted vehicles for practice?, i sent a couple their way in years gone by. pul We still use vehicles for training but they need to be cleansed of all fluids, batteries, etc prior to being used so they are sourced from breakers in that condition and delivered to each station. After the cars have been cut up they are collected by breakers disposed of. You could try phoning Fire service but by the time a free car is taken to workshops, cleansed, de-registered, and transported to a station, then disposed of after use it may not work out any cheaper than current arrangements.

Suggestions please Not to un-do your good gesture, but you'd have to be very specific in who you give it to if you want someone to get some use out of it. Scrap is around £100 a ton now, so cars are being bought for that again. I had a little Almera a friend had used up and it needed an MOT, it was a good driving car and needed very little, and I thought it would have done someone a good turn for another year or two, but a couple of days on Bakebook and a traveller arrived down and put it on their truck. They were surprised it drove on, they had been expecting / not caring if it was a non-runner, and it went straight to scrap. Most of the free things I see are an utter pain - travellers start arguing about who is going to get there first, then they mess the "seller" around - making it more stressful than it's worth, especially as it's actually worth -zero. So for the absolute minimum of hassle, I would drive the car straight to the nearest recycling place, collect your c.£200, and then treat the missus to an evening out, or donate to a charity of your choice.

I posted ad an in these forums about a year ago which was for a tired but sound old MG Magnette on the Car & Classic website for £1.00 'to enthusiast'. That lucky 'enthusiast' had it re-listed on ebay with a couple of days for £2½K.

I did this with a Renault Scenic last year - wasn’t worth my time and effort to fix a few niggling faults, owed me nothing so I thought it may help someone out. advertised it on here (okay it was Y reg) and it went to a deserving home and was T&T with a few days work. forum.retro-rides.org/thread/198718/2001-renault-scenic-9dci-gloucesterNo age limit on the parts section if it’s spares or repairs?
