bit of a little update. thought the heat wasn't coming through the heaters. knew I bled it properly, but did not see the pollen filter... problem solved. 37981C7D-C901-4CBC-8025-7A3DB4594E04 by , on Flickr 82898E23-94E0-42CE-B2F5-D177101C5701 by , on Flickr had a clean up of a parts drawer indoors, and found a mooneyes genuine freshener! plonked that on F596DB0B-528F-4447-9147-A75756B9841B by , on Flickr then onto little things, the foam in between the handles and doors were all destroyed. already bought cheap taiwaiin gaskets on a chance.. but they were true turd, so bit the bullet and bought all 4 complete with handle outers from BMW. its the little things I suppose? 356F11D7-EEC4-4AF6-B7DE-168FCF96CEB5 by , on Flickr 74DC44BA-3DCA-4A7F-822A-40E2DF7F5C36 by , on Flickr 49E21700-42DE-482B-8D44-4CCD1C11611D by , on Flickr and an arty shot while I was picking up said items . still got lots of little things to do next. new numberplates, rear light led bulb units, need to buy a proper rear window wiper delete. silly little things but that's all I can do to this for now

they are 17x8.5 and 17x9.5 . cant remember the tyre sizes right now. but it wasn't straight forward to just 'bolt them on' if it was that easy many people would of done it. But was worth the effort I think anyway

Been using this everywhere recently, my poor new Golf GTD has had a well earned rest lol. Anyway nothing mad to report, got a few updates coming but its all minor stuff. all adds up , needing an oil change and coolant re flush as well. really does drive nice, Its so refined and just a great tool. Used it for luggin plenty of car bits around earned its keep for sure. done 3000 miles so far since buying it. Currently on the lookout for reasonably priced dampening adjustable suspension. The eBay jobbies that came with it are not the best. any sensibly priced recommendations?

Not done a lot to this. Its been chomping the miles up very well. having done around 4000 miles since the last update, I think it is due a treat of better suspension and maybe a few other things. D995B83B-2594-4612-BCB1-D982A7B849E4 by

It's funny, the dealer probably wasn't as expensive as you thought either. Be glad you didn't get Chinese lower arms; a mate had has balljoints collapse on the MOT ramp! That was interesting!
Those pollen filters are fun to change aren't they?
It's good to see another BMW on here.

There is something very satisfying about reading about ex drift machines being saved, looks in really good condition.

Would not go or stay with a 4 pot sadly . Had a quote to put a 1uz in it ... but i will need to clear my garage of rare spares for “that future project “to fund it.. or alternatively do the usual m50 lump change later this summer. I really don't know . May even sell it as is, but i will have a long think on what to do

mine is definitely a unique barriquarot....wine barrel red. sometimes it looks almost purple, other times maroon, and sometimes almost brownish....
I do like those corvette rims quite a bit.

well, I nearly sold this, then I backed out (stupidly or not ,you decide), then to re ignite my spannering I have decided to make it become "The Ultimate Driving Machine" …. Yes, that means it is going to get a m52b28 lump in it (2.8 straight 6 to those who are not BM nuts!). this is not only to reignite the passion for the car. it is also because the current lump although the bones of the engine is great needs a bit of tlc. it currently needs a clutch as it is low and the release bearing is really noisey, it also needs engine and gearbox mounts.. so to do the engine and gearbox mounts I may as well, you know, "take the engine out to do these items"(then to be replaced with 2 more cylinders and the new mounts also lol) currently put a deposit down on a complete package, has an m50 manifold on it and a few other goodies. its also in Wales.. road trip ! But as I do I will go through it lightly and upgrade a few things as we go along, nothing mental, but just keep it sensible. deciding weather to bin the bmw rad and put an alloy one and expansion tank in? also not got photos but I will get some sourced another tan interior for the tan leather door cards and all the tan rear trim! and have also changed the mang steering wheel for a 'personal' leather one with a proper boss. (looks like an OMP wheel but leather and really nice quality) Here's a photo of it again (taken on my potato iPhone. must bust out the proper camera one day), I have changed done a few things to the front of the car if you notice ..? (pre facelift nose cone with smaller kidneys, numberplate delete and a totally legal (leul) sticky tiny plate ) bm 1 by bm by till next time , which will be hopefully an swap update , cheers
