I thought I would go all "not the nine o'clock news for this post" - so if you are pondering what makes you go boing boing boing until you get a pain in the groin..... behold the rear end update, with lots of clever spring things going on. So pleased with how this has come together - the whole unit tying into the roll cage and sub frame both structurally and visually. Mark has excelled himself with the design. Look at those rockers! Still to weld the extra bits of cage and spec the final shocks… for the technically minded - push rods are all rose jointed and tie into the mustang s550 IRS and directly to the new lighter much sexier tubular rear arms we fabricated and then rise up to the lever arms which will be held in place by a closed faced bearing to minimise friction and then on to a set of nitron shocks. The observant amongst you will note that these are indeed our Nitron front shocks, but Badhand will be on to the nice chaps at Nitron to spec up the rear ones soon. The whole kit and caboodle is tied into the IRS and the rear role cage, so we get firm control and so you don't get a pain in your groin or any part of your anatomy when driving. It will be more I like trucking and I like to truck. This also marks a milestone, as once this is done and the cage is in, then Hellraiser will be cut off the build cradle and she will be standing on her own four wheels ... which for the moment will be boring s550 mustang onwa, ones until we find a wheel company that have some suitably retro but modern wheels we like, preferably centre lock as who doesn't like smashing your nuts with a big leather hammer. [ " Words escape me. Well, words don’t Describe what goes on in my head and heart when I look at this build. Just amazing work.

As the owner more or less stock '66 coupe, I just love seeing what can be achieved with some ingenious vision and ace engineering. Keep them updates coming.

Wow. Just wow. That's some art work and so beautifully framed by the rear window!

Just because there's a rulebook doesn't mean you have to read it.

For the rear we are probably going to piggy back as the front need remotes due to the location.
To be fair to nitron, we looked at a lot of makes like KW, Ohlins ( briefly and made a sharp exit) etc etc. For the quality of the what they make and the amount of tailoring you can do with them, they are really good value for money. The Nitrons are half the price of the KWs i have in another mustang and i would argue much better quality. Having a UK manufacturer also takes out a major pain in the bum you have with shipping and turn around times. so sorry for the advert but i have been properly impressed with them so far.

No apology necessary - However the reason I went for Nitrons is that the spring colour matches my favourite dress..

A few big updates coming this week, including it being rolled out into the sunshine and on it's wheels for the first time ever ! So first update, the rear suspension is now complete apart from fitting the shocks and we have also finished fabbing the cage. A couple of weeks ago was a big day..... hellraiser was cut free of the building jig brought down from her lofty position and brought out into the sunshine for the first time in well .... a long time ..... so video below - if it works So lets take a step back and look what has been achieved 1. Coyote engine installed 2. Trans installed 3. complete front suspension designed and installed 4. Ford 2016 s550 independent rear suspension installed and then redesigned and remade and reinstalled 5. Trans tunnel, floor pan, wheel wheels Fabbed and installed 6. Push rod rear suspension fabbed and installed 7. Wheel arches, front splitter and rear panel Fabbed and installed 8. Headliner, roll cage and steering rack installed. Still a lot left to do but feels like on home stretch 1. Wheels - decisions decision 2. Wiring - going to go custom ECU and fit 3. Exterior - still some work to do on scoops and diffusers and then of course paint 4. interior 5. Glass
