Thanks for your ideas, we did consider a number of options when doing the arches, argued about them and it is a tough one and arguably polarising. We didn't consider cutting the car in half though ! If you want a coyote - we do have a spare, ford racing crate motor will all the ancillaries so your dream super sweeney car could not be that far away ! Keep the comments coming its good to see what you think Yeah, it's just one man's opinion right... Glad to see the comment taken as they were meant! Hm, That sounds very interesting. A spare Coyote... Still, I'm on a very limited budget and looking at what ecu's, looms etc. go for to get this engine going I'm afraid it'll always be a dream. But maybe something to look into/talk about in a pm for a bit. First order of business would be seeing if that big boy will even fit a granada. Although the perana v8 ford small block and some BMW engines have been fitted.

Coyote (or the earlier modular V8 at least) has been done a couple of times in to a mk1 over here Exhaust manifolds are a bit tight is the only concern I think! cati69 those arches look bloomin lovely Something about arch extensions made in steel thats just that much better than bolt on arches

thanks MK2 ! Yes we like the steele look too - fibreglass or even 3d print does not get the finesse to the edges that make or break a build like this.
Coyote and Granny - sounds like a plan !

So we need some design help.. so a chance to make your mark or put your finger print on this build With the arches sorted, it's time to think seriously about the spoiler. Original plans, on paper anyway, was to have a separate spoiler, but when we started playing around with the cardboard in 3D, Mark came up with the idea of linking the front arch and spoiler into each other. We were unsure at first, but it just flowed so nicely it had to be done. Sorted! Or so we thought. Leaving the lads alone with the cardboard threw up a new dilemma, as a comment that we should reflect/project the lines of the bumper down on to the spoiler, resulted in a brand new shape for the corner. Shape A is on the left. Shape B is on the right here. Design logic, sort of says B is right, but I'm not convinced with logic. To be fair, you can't really get a true idea until you look at it from multiple angles, but we thought it was interesting to show you guys... So it is ? A - left side -which follows the shape of the arch or B right side which followed the original valance and bumper, you can see this more clearly in picture 3 or C something we have not considered?

I'd say the right side looks better, as it mirrors the swage line on the top of the fender Both look good, but the right side in the pics look better resolved to me

Definitely B, picking up on the leading edge of the headlights. I know it’s only duct tape supporting the card, but there’s also something I like about the vertical dropping down from the bumper to the spoiler!

err.. not so sure about b now.... the thing that gets me is that a follows the arch. being the front together and if you go with b - well it kind of focusses it on the angles of the bumper and then it doesnt pop so much
does that make sense - what do you think

Makes no sense to me, but it's A all the way! Look at the majesty of that swoop! It echoes and exaggerates the original spoiler and looks nicer from more angles. I think.....

How does it look bumperless?

Is it worth blending the bumpers into the body?
