1991 Fiesta 1.1 popular plus.

Love this, have to appreciate the MK3's but the kit is exactly what I would be doing, also huge kudos for finding set of duals - again I would fit them (my dad and brother are instructors and I would love an old rover 114 and dual it up like his old AA one)

We still have one of our older cars, albeit it's a 2004 that spent 55k as a driving school car, I used it personally up until 142k and then my brother took it, swapped out the tdci engine for a 2.0 petrol, again I would love to find some duals for that, just for fun!

Thank you. I had a suspicion that it got incorporated into Brunel Ford. We had a Ford dealership in Devon and Cornwall that did the same and incorporated small independent dealers into their business. I have been to Bristol a few times over the years and feel I may have gone passed myself.

Now into early 2018 and  more progress was made.

First was a little hole filler. Unused and came with the ford box. I decided to maintain the original head unit and will be using cassettes. 






I was always looking on Facebook and EBay and this appeared locally. Up for £400, early 1.1lx with no mot. Had a chat with the owner, who was desperate to get rid off. So couple days later, I had a learner on a driving test and took a walk to the car. Very frilly around the edges, but could see the potential for parts. Guy would take £200 if I got rid of quickly. Unfortunately it was near a bank holiday and my recovery guy was busy. Then I got reminded that the money would be useful not buying this. Couple of weeks later the car had gone. However.....






This appeared about a month later on a FB group. 1.1 Ghia in a J plate and was registered scrap 7 years previously. No logbook. However it was 20 mins from the house and organised a visit. Went down to have a look and pretty much bought. This had numerous parts that have been used and still is providing parts today. Owner Dad is a great guy. Owns a Hi Cap s3 Land Rover and Cortina 1600e. Contacted my recovery guy and organised pick up. Price? £125 and pick up was free.

Started straight away with changing parts. 

Now we are in the summer of 2018 and I generally used the car any chance I got. The car is based approximately 20 mins from the house, as it would be parked outside. I secured a dry garage to stored the car. As I had the spotlight brackets, I thought I would find some appropriate spotlights. I originally wanted some Ford ones, however rs/xr scene tax meant they were bloody expensive. So I looked at period lights and purchased these. Slight patina on them, but will be fantastic to light up those Devonshire lanes at night. 





Earlier I mentioned these. Dual controls for a mk3. By luck or concident, these appeared on FB not long after I got the car. The intention was to fit them to the fiesta and use the car for advertising for my driving school. However they would be classed as a huge modification and this would change the insurance massively. Possibly even a driving school policy.Which could prove difficult with the age of the car.  Then I decided that it was possibly too good as I would have been tempted to teach in it. Definitely learn clutch control in this. So this is being kept in the garage. Would like to get another fiesta to use this on.

Between the 2018 & 2019 MOT’s I covered only 700 miles. I even disconnected the battery twice as it wasn’t just being used. However once I put the car in for MOT and it needed a new brake master cylinder, (£300) plus a advisory on rear nearside arch made me rethink how I was going to move forward with the car. So let the mods begin.

Not long after the fitment of the spot lights I had a some spare time one cold autumn morning. So instead of getting a coffee and being warm, I did this:





























Temporary fitment of the RS accessories loser skirt. I purchased the kit early 2018 and the above photos were taken October 2019. First time I had seen the car with the kit on and I was unsure if I liked it or not. It is something that I still am unsure about at the time of writing.

Something else I disliked was the blanks on the middle dashboard. So I popped them out and replaced them with a couple of switches. Looks better even though they don’t do nothing.

Next up was this addition of lower spot lamps. Again these came with the correct brackets, so fitment was straight forward.
