	So for some reason I never started a thread on this one, here goes.... My previous daily driver w124 was on it's last legs, rust, dead steering box, 3 shades of volvo blue , when my mate turned up with this beast. She's a 1996 E300 diesel w124, (one of the last infact) in a fetching shade of beige, with more beige inside, British Leyland style! Under the bonnet lives the legendary om606 3.0 diesel, but this one is non turbo so the only thing legendary is the sedate pace to go with beigeness. Part of the problem is the 4 speed auto that starts in 2nd gear, coupled to a ridiculous 3.07 rear diff, a rocket it was not.

	So I drove it around for a year before I couldn't stand the mind bending speed anymore, and converted it to a 5 speed manual box from a c class. This did improve things quite a bit... So much so that I had to fit a AMG style front air dam to it.. It then gained a set of bbs reps from a t5 van that were going cheap, and some lowering via a set of Koni shocks and springs.

	It then became an excellent towing car for moving my projects around, the self leveling rear suspension is great for this. Would pull a car trailer anywhere. Next up was to fit a wood insert steering wheel from a w210, in yet another awesome shade of beige!!!!

	Then a chance find in the classifieds and I was the new owner of a very rough set of Carlsson 1/12 replicas. These I then bead-blasted and had powdercoated a nice shade of wheel silver. Which transformed the look of the car, just goes to show the difference the right set of wheels makes.

	I opened the bonnet one day and the insulation just fell off! So the only sensible thing to do was to break out the dynamat for some added bling. And whilst I was mucking about she gained a set of yellow spot lights to fill the cutouts in the bumper.

	Which brings us to how she looks at the moment, pretty good I think.

	Looks good. Where did you get the AMG style bumper? There was a clk for sale over here recently with a set of what looked like genuine Carlson's like those. It went as low as 650 euro, was so tempted but I just didn't have the coin.

I did have to add my own mounting points, as it doesnt come with any. That clk would of been a steal at that money.
