Hello all. I'm new to this site so thought id introduce myself. Name is Nick. Biker by nature but really into my cars too. Needed a new family car and as Id rather have something with a bit of character and cool, I've bought this 1990 Jaguar xj6, 4.0 . flew up with the family to Glasgow yesterday, picked her up then spent the day in the lake district before getting back to London last night. Done about 490miles in it so far and already love it. Ill picking the brains of the wise on this forum over the next year or so. Here are some pics.....

Thanks a lot. I must say its a great drive. Being an old car there are a few odds and sods to take care of but that's half the fun with these old cars. First on the list is raising the suspension. I love the look but annoyingly around my area the speed bumps are built like the Pyramids of Giza

The seller Supplied me with a full set of original rims with tyres which was nice of him. I love the aftermarkets on there however not to sure about the grey painted centres. I'm thinking black.

I do like an XJ40. adam73bgt had one of these and went down a couple of similar paths to you, like the wheels. Enjoy.

Thanks

I adore these and that's a great colour for one! Wheel centres black is also a great choice - it'll compliment the bumper trim really well I went through a phase of wanting to VIP one of these and ended up getting an S-Class (and not VIPing it, lol) They do look really well with the right treatment. Eta: I'd black out the door posts too, it'll give it a sleeker look.

I was really tempted by this as an interesting family motor myself! Went for my XJR with LPG instead, as i do 150 miles a week so needed cheaper fuel bill! I'll be following with interest!

As ChasR said, I had one of these, absolutely loved it until the fuel bill got a bit too much for me at the time Thats how mine looked just with the XJ12 lattices and standard ride height, yours with the Remotec's and lowering looks badass, dark centres on the wheels will definitely be a good move I reckon
