This has got your name all over it... It was a deserved winner that collected it. Lovely little kids carts. (But no engine) Personally I probably would've chosen the pit bike powered crate. That was pretty cool imo yeah there were some pretty cool builds in that tight little area - I think the suspension setup must have swung it for the winner - I liked the crate too, reminded me of a similar build from a beer crate I've seen a photo of somewhere in internet land. Yours was obviously the most little tikes like but maybe considered too big in the end - I'm glad I got to see it in the metal / plastic though - I did try looking out for you but didn't spot you. I'll add photos in a bit...

London Cartel actually managed to catch me on their live video in action!

So, I know I've been quiet on this, but worry not, It's not been shelved. I managed to aquire another rotovator the same as the one I use, and that gave me a 3 speed + reverse gearbox. Much better! However, with the workshop rather full I haven't had much opportunity to work on it so the solution to that problem has been my little project over the last month or so; forum.retro-rides.org/thread/204129/little-tikes-garage-aka-megashedAnd the car is now at home, so I can get to stripping it down for paint and bodywork now. And being at home means I can work at my leisure in the evenings should the mood take me. And obviously I just had to give it another "test drive" www.facebook.com/paul.redshaw.9/videos/vb.606134886/10156620690129887/?type=3

Fantastic You do look a little cramped in the "cab" but I guess you are probably outside the "Suitable for ages" range! Nick

Yes, I think I fall somewhat out of their target demographic. Even with the stretched bodywork!

Woah! Over a year since I updated this!! So, the original steering mechanism proved to be a little troublesome, so I binned off the old worm and wheel and got myself a steering quadrant from an old Wheelhorse tractor, and with some bracketry got it squeezed into the chassis; With that operating smoothly, I have also spent a little time blending and smoothing the body shell so it doesn't look like a big elastoplaste has been stuck on and painted over. I've somehow forgotten to take any pics of that yet!

Now, it's always been my intention to make an Aluminium fuel tank for this, but somehow kept forgetting. However, that has now been rectified this week. So, One piece of Aluminium rolled to form a tube the same size as the current rotovator tank I'm using; and appropriate metal glue applied; Followed closely by the making of two end pieces; and 'glueing' them in place; I added a little bit of a dish to the ends, for aesthetics as much as anything else really. Then I cheated and bought a pre machined filler neck and cap. But at only £8.50 delivered it really wasn't worth messing about with; Tonight should see the tank fitted and ready to "race" ( ) again

Made a couple of straps in brass, along with some half moons and fitted the tank

Good to see this in yesterday's news paper Just what the country needed instead of all the normal doom and gloom Yes, that was all a bit of a surprise to me too tbh, but as you say, it's a little lighthearted piece in the midst of all the misery
