Not really a suggestion, but the first pic(volvo mock up) reminds me of the 2nd gen VW LT vans.

I know I'm always banging on about them but a mk1 forester grille might work as it's a really similar shape There are two main grille types as the nose got a mid-life refresh, but both might be about the right sort of size?  |

Looks like you would have to cut into the bonnet for any bigger alternative grill..
What about black vinyl over the bottom 30-40mm of the bonnet with thin stick-on chrome around the outer edge. Plastic or metal strip over existing grille with wider stick-on chrome for the diagonal.
Though I still like the '80's style blanked/filled grilles, or perforated metal for the more industrial look of the wagon R's.
Volvo electric concept?

Audi A2? Black out the bonnet part and have the bottom grille slot deeper. No dimensions but looking at the number plates for scale, the width might be close.  |

I don't have access to image editing stuff and being able to upload them at work but I reckon cut the bonnet full width along top of headlights and have a mk2 golf or p38 Range Rover grill full width between headlights. Would need bumper smoothing along the top edge though possibly. Links ... Seems like the only way to keep the bottom half the perfect size.

I think the standard grill looks pretty neat tbh but if you're looking for 'different' then maybe the Merc style is the way to go.  |

wasn't there some pictures of this type of car with kits in japan made to look like mini dodge vans and other cool stuff couldn't you get one of them kits and change the hole front ....would be cool

First generation Volvo S70/V70 grille are about the correct height but a bit narrower. Since it's quite square, maybe it would be possible to cut the end bits from one grille and glue them together with the centre section from another to the width you wish?

Just a thought but why not just go full custom - all you really need are some slats and a bit of chrome trim to round it off

whatever you end up with needs to be at least as high as the lamps to loose the "tombstone" look of the front end. i would go with something totally outrageous like one from a dodge ram or similar (cut down...obviously!!)
