My 92 Mitsubishi Lancer 1.5 has developed a horrible noise from the gearbox/diff.
Its like a scraping noise on off on off on off, like a steam train chugging. It is related to the speed of the wheels, not engine. Its worse under power, but there all the time. Car has been serviced, had new front wheel bearings and gear oil change. They couldn't find anything untoward outside of the gearbox.
Car is very well serviced, one owner and 55k miles.
Might be diff related?
Looking for recommendations. Where would you trust a gearbox from your 80's early 90's car?

Try All Gears in worksop, they specialise in Getrag but I believe that they do rebuild other manual gearboxes (no automatics) I'm taking my gearbox to them after they were recommended to me by a friend who is rather OCD when it comes to his car. www.all-gears.co.uk

You might be better off ringing them as I didn't get a reply to my email. They are only a small company, Father and Daughter I believe.
