Friend of the family back in the 70s had one of those as his workshop hack I remember dad borrowing it a few times and us going off road on farm trails. If you want NZ local design vehicle you cant go past the Trekka www.trekka.co.nz/

Trekka is worth to be shown, not only mentioned.

When they mentioned Trekka on the show I just thought it was the VW Trekker/Thing. Does look a cool little truck.

I’ve never seen one of these before. Maybe a bit of a home made estate.

Interesting, certainly not a regular factory model. Looks very well done. Intriguing!

A Nissan Quest Tom

The Quest is pretty cool for a van, but the transverse VQ35 is a complete pain in the thingy to work on. The rear bank of the engine is completely under the windshield cowl and jobs like changing spark plugs means stripping out half the front end and most of the intake system. It’s probably like the same era Murano, in that just about any maintenance needs major dismantling.

No different to much of the other transverse V6 engined vehicles then At least with a Nissan, you know it will come undone and do back up again tho

Sounds like another car engineered by people fresh from college etc. who never got their hands dirty on a real car themselves.
Function follows form.

Both the Murano we sold and my truck have had their fair share of dismantling to fix oil leaks. The truck is easy to work on, the Murano… ugh. After working on the Murano though, I tell myself no more transverse V6s. Time will tell if listen to my own advice…

Love a Dangel, used to see one in France where we went regularly, only reason I know they exist (Late 90s-2000 ish ) Did not know they did any RHD ones though. This: The 1987 Chevy XT-1 Blazer concept. Was the design inspiration for the hero car in Tango and Cash (which itself was a Chevy C10 underneath)

I knew about the Contour But I'd never heard of its uglier and therefore cooler sibling the Mercury Mystique: Tom
