Why isn't everyone building awesome Opel Manta Bs?

Me again, who had the orange Cosworth Manta. Back in the mid-80's I had a couple of SR Berlinettas at the same time, indentical except one had the chrome bumper, the other built a year later with the black plastic bumpers. The chrome bumper one I put a Rover V8 in ( when hair was long and shorts were short ). I was very disappointed with the result considering the amount of effort involved and the expense of building the rover to even a modest spec. The Manta is an awkward car to put a V engine in due to the layout of the k-member and the diagonal suspension (?) bars at the rear of the engine bay. I certainly wished I had gone with a SB Chevy instead. I sold it to a guy who was moving to Germany and I think he took it with him. Regarding the Cosworth one; I wish I hadn't sold it now of course. I made the mistake of making the ride way too harsh with Bilsten shocks and uprated springs and the quick rack was too heavy and it was all round unpleasant to drive ( apart from the acceleration! ) . The wheels I didn't care for and were only there until I could afford some TE-37s. However, before that happened, circumstances forced me to sell it. I guess not many people put Cosworth in Mantas now, but if you do you will need to notch ( recess ) the k-member and use the Sierra 4x4 exhaust manifold, as the 2WD manifold will hit the chassis rail.
