Hi Guys
Did a ridiculous thing and bought a run down tired old fulvia that is need of plenty of TLC (thats putting it politely) and looking to get it back on the road after what appears to be a 20 year sleep. Bought from images only but well aware of what these Italian cars can hide so just went for it and snatched it up to restore and give it what it needs for life on the road again.
its a RHD UK spec car so runs the outer lamp higher than the inner. Most prefer the 4 lights sitting together but i actually like the lines of the lifted light, brings a bit of character to the front end...not that it doesn't already have bags of it anyway.
Wont be a huge and comprehensive updated thread but will post pics form time to time with progression etc and calls for help.
Non original colour...it was the darker / petrol blue originally pulling up carpets but someone in the past has repainted it Azzurro (french) blue at some point...really, really badly as well. Were talking overspray on lots of interior trim and most wires in the engine bay. Why oh why. Bodgers.
Anyway. Plan is to keep the Azzurro blue because it does look amazing on the montecarlo limited edition models but not go with the black bonnet and boot. Repaint the engine bay using the matt black because its just a mess.
keep the original 13 inch steel wheels and powder coat them black along with the grille and light surrounds to create a sort of Safari / Monte cross breed.
i'm not going to be precious with it and retain its complete originality because i have no history with the car. Just want a classy looking fulvia alive again.
requires ALOT of bodywork / welding of sills and numerous other holes / rot dealing with but thats the fun stuff right?
