The Datsun came with a (single) expired Minnesota plate, PM me your address if you want it posted. Just seen your reply, that is very generous, thank you. Can I PayPal you the postage? If you post it, just post it in the simplest way as a "letter" Ohh, and yes please of course π Don't worry about the postage, reading your contributions here is entertainment enough Just PM your address and I'll get it off the car on Saturday.

Hey Matt, I was going to say, I like the wheels as well as the silver. Suspect given a choice I would go for Silver as it's easier to play with. I know nothing about wheels, and would love to add some random, weird, unusual wheels to my car, but for now it needs to be the VTR alloys. Your wheels are cool though. TBH I'd love mine on 1.9 GTi alloys but they go for so much moolah now it isn't funny So she sits as she came - and she's grunty and hilarious and I love her! Cheers Matt

Love the chevy badge - though to my eyes the smaller one looked more authentic.

Love the idea of playing with one of these, but tbh, I absolutely don't get the Chevrolet badge idea.

Cheers Matt Is it not weird how we can have fast, expensive, powerful cars and yet, often the most fun is to be had in bottom feeders as they really take us back to the essence of motoring where many of us stsrted. I have hadmore fun with this car in three weeks with whats left of its 75bhp afyer 16 years than I ever had with a brand new C Class 2.5liter V6 Mercedes Benz with 204bhp and sports suspension. It makes me want to drive it. PS I also have the full 250,000 mile headroom option - love it! Ahhh yes. The perfect place for a Stetson hat. And if I open thst roof, the sky is the limit. Love the chevy badge - though to my eyes the smaller one looked more authentic. You are quite right. However, the original chevrons are recessed so would have left a load of bits to fill and paint. I want stuff like this to be reversible, should I sell it on. Also, more importantly, the smaller badge, like all of them are damaged in some way and this one was quite badly so. But I agree it would look much more authentic. Love the idea of playing with one of these, but tbh, I absolutely don't get the Chevrolet badge idea. Your comment made me smile broadly. Its great to play with. The Chevy badge is part of its evolution. You will hsve to stand by another few weeks for it all to come together. Hopefully it will make sense then. No smallblock transplant as someone suggested. Hope to get some time in over the weekend, if Katy is prepared to help.

Bit by bit. And yes, fun for sure as it is allowing my Mojo to build again, while putting that silly grin in my heart. Will this become a citrolet or a Ttfn Glenn Good thinking Glenn. I have had a few people on various forums challenge the Chevy badge on the front, little do they know I am planning more stuff from my little haul from Dennis to get stuck on it. It will look like a Philippines Jeepney soon Can you guess which bits....??

Work station. Inside and outside getting the treatment. Amazing the progress you can make with fresh glass media and a lot of air capacity. Of course the job is dirty, leaving you big lumps of coal up your nostrils and anywhere else you care to touch. But a great way to feel alive. All four done. Next job will be primer, paint and get the tyres swopped over. And if the weather holds out........ Window tints.

It will look like a Philippines Jeepney soon I see where your coming from, but you really should have gone Mercedes for that gen-u-wine Jeepney look though. Ideally you should also have a sticker on the bonnet clearly advertising something you haven't got. "Over-Drive" is firm a favourite although, "Brakes" would be just as appropriate! Somewhat bizarrely, this one seems to think that having "Steering" gives him one-up on his mates. Sorry. Carry on.

Between a cat on my head, and a small little chainsaw in bed next to me, I was out of bed by 05.15 and surfing the web with a mug of tea by 05.30 Then ironed 13 shirts while trying to keep quiet so the chainsaw could rest and hit peak revs all at the same time. By 10.00 it was brekkie time, giant crumpets with apricot jam and a good mug of tea. Followed by cleaning with thinners, and priming the wheels I blasted yesterday. Next up the glass came out of the Berlingo. All needs washing, cleaning and drying. Fortunately Katy was here to supervise, I nearly messed up twice, cutting wrong and facing the film the wrong way. Than lay out the tinting film, cut to size and fit. Squeegeed out the water used to float the film. Result. Contrast. Interestingly, once fitted to the van, you can see out very well, but trying to see in is a lot more difficult Once we refitted the glass, I was pretty pleased to say the least, as this was another one of those things I thought was worth trying. Then up to the farm for a couple of pics to show the result of our work. After this we came home and I thought it was a perfect time to complete painting the wheels. I am really pleased with the outcome of this all, good prep, priming and a decent result. Tonight Katy and I are taking it easy and she is still, cooking dinner....... lucky me. And of course tonight I probably deserved my Rum and Pepsi Max. Tomorrow.....? Who knows.

5.15!!! You do like a lie in don't you, by then I had dog walked, breakfast done and in the car heading for work. Nice progress with the "non project" If you are getting crud in your nose when media blasting, you really should look at wearing a respirator, lung damage is not funny Ttfn Glenn

I quite like this, but it's missing ELG 111 I hope Grizz will get it, cause I donΒ΄t. Sorry, it was a bit oblique. In Rian's collection, is one of these... Sent when we changed to dull black and white plates.

Look good Rian. A slight decrease in altitude, maybe an inch or two, would still look 'stock' plus give you the load capacity and make the civilians notice that there is something different but not be able to put their finger on it. Once you get the rubbing strips off and the wheels on I think you are there. Well unless.... Please continue. P.

The tints work very well. Doing that kind of job makes me nervous! I think the money professionals charge makes me more nervous. At Β£8.00 for a 10' roll of tint, which did not make it to the rear window by about 4" too short, it's got to be worth giving a go. I believe in monkey see monkey do, and just have to give stuff a go, making it up as I go along. He tints work well, and the way it looks now, does make the sides look solid, but you can see in the photos how dark it really is. Great progress. I will definitely take you up on your offer at a look around a and cuppa soon! Do you do any of the local shows? Like I always say, people are most welcome here, as long as you take it as it comes, and tolerate Harley as she does love attention and the garage. P. Thanks Paul, you are one of my barometers of progress and stuff done. If I could drop it a bit front and rear, say 2-3" and do it for zero cost, of course I would, but now really need to hold onto those purse strings you are trying to unravel. And the rubbing strips need to go, I just need to find something clever to cover over the holes, like a chequered flag sticker strip of some matched vinyl. And I will be there......... Unless...... PS: Katy just pointed out that the thread is already over 11000 views within 3 weeks. That's a surprise. Thanks for all the input, comments and help.
