Any recommendations for Modified classic car insurance?
Already with Adrian flux, who have doubled their quote from last year. Already tried Greenlight, footman james and SKY. Sky were the only ones that could help but the price is pretty much the same.
Cheers

Lancaster always seem to provide the quotes for modified cars in the classic car weekly feature so they may be worth a try, not used them myself yet

I'm with HIC and they seem pretty good. My brother swears by Brentacre but when I rang them they wouldn't quote me, said my car wasn't worth enough although it's practically identical to my brothers.

Depends how modified you mean… my 2000 is heavily modified, 2500 motor and all sorts of other stuff, but all with regular Triumph bits. Got all the mods declared with Peter James and pay £150 a year for the Triumph and my Karmann Ghia.

Lancaster are pants if you ever have to claim. Took me a year and a small-claims summons to get my money out of their underwriter, and they pretty much washed their hands of the whole thing as fast as possible.
Peter James are fantastic, as are RH Specialist Insurance who currently do mine. Peter Best wouldn't touch the modifications I have (not much), but Heritage were pretty good too, just not quite as cheap as RH

I've used Footman James in the past for a Pinto powered 100e.Modified suspension, 105e axle, minilites. Seem to remember it was a good price and service.

Call Clare at A Plan in Thatcham. That particular branch specialise in modded cars. I've always used here and never pay more than £150 a year for a policy (5k mileage limit) They even insured my Forester as a modded classic as it was imported! Don't call your local A plan - has to be Thatcham. (Tell them you are in a club too - like GMowners or something)
