Morning All So here it is (not sure if its a boy or a girl yet). So it's an it until it gets a name. I have had it for a whole 2 weeks now and its only just starting to wake up after a period of being on a drive for a long while. My play is to clean the hell out of it starting with a clean and wax. The effort of the washing and waxing was worth the chicken mayo and gravy sandwich afterwards The next job is a full bore engine bay clean

Because they have the steering arm as part of them. I did think that vectras ones looked close, but no idea if they are actually even close to usable. If you search out Dez's tread on his b2 80 build, you'll see the work needed to build a set.

some induction noise, not a lot else. Might release 1 or 2 BHP, nothing noticeable. Even if you added a full performance exhaust system your unlikely to feel any real difference, although the change in noise can make it feel a bit quicker

I think these used the ABK engine which are the equivalent of a VW 2E engine, with a counterflow head.
Not a huge amount you can do to these, the head is the restriction, so to get more power your looking at porting and polishing the head and fitting a more aggressive camshaft. On the VW 2E engine people have seen gains by fitting the head and cam from a PB code engine (1.8 8v mk2 golf GTi engine) but not sure if there are any differences in the longitudinal application.
Swapping to a 1.8t from a B5 Audi A4 is going to give the best bang for buck power hike.
Looks tidy though, I'd just enjoy it for sunny day cruises with the top down!

That's the general plan. It's very original and hasn't been molested in anyway so I should probably leave it alone and just restore the bits that need restoring.

I do like the Audi 80 Cabrio. I did toy with the idea of one a while back but when the Saab vert fell into my lap I went for it. That one looks very clean and unmessed with. Any chance you can get the hood down and go the long way home.

What tools products did you use to achieve that finish?

I used a snowfoam shampoo. But only in a bucket of water no pressure washer. I used a sheeps wash hand mitt. After drying it I used auto glym rapid aqua wax and a bit of car detailing spray
Need a new roof, wheel refurb and tyre dressing and its there.
