Thanks, we filmed these bits but we haven't started editing the next video, time is a bit tight at the moment but we'll try to put it together soon. In the mean time I started making a list of parts needed for the front suspension

Finally I managed to assemble the front end on my project. The front backing plates seem to not fit well since they're from a later car but I'll trim them to fit. Next job is to plumb the brake lines and start the wiring

This tread makes me miss my Guilia 2000 GTV rather a lot but this picture reminds me of my 2000 Berlina which was an absolutely awesome car Those holes on the floor - On the way to work one day along Barnet lane A441 coming into Borehamwood around Woodcock hill, which I was later to find out was a UK sprint hillclimb venue at one point, It had been raining and there was a rather deep puddle at the base of the hill. The carpet was out of the car and I had newspaper on the floor, quite a lot of it. When the ol' Berlina hit the puddle a solid column of water came up through that hole - no bung as I had been chasing rust - punching a perfect circle in the newspaper, up through the spokes of the steering wheel hitting be straight in the face. The car made it through the water and up the hill without breaking a sweat but I was soaked through when I arrived at work.

I can't wait to start putting the engine together, I have a 1750 stored waiting for a rebuild The 1750 was always written about in the press as the sweetest of the Nords, being more willing and less harsh than the 2.0L. I had the 1.8 in an '86 75 and it was a really nice engine. The step-front is the best of the 105 Coupes and yours is beautiful

There are 3 types of brake back plates for the Giulia series which are not interchangeable; 1. Early Dunlop braked cars 2. Ate braked small type for all 1300, 1600 and 1750 from around 1967 3. Ate braked bigger disc type which was exclusively used on 2000 types.
However there is also a group of owners (especially in the club race scene) who remove them completely because it improves brake cooling (a bit).

Thom It's strange as my car had Ate calipers but the front caliper bracket is a separate piece with 4 equally sized holes. I noticed later cars have 2 smaller hole to mount the backing plate and the caliper bracket is in one piece with the upright. It didn't have backing plates on the original old uprights but there was a set of later backing plates supplied with the car so I enlarged the small holes to make them fit, however the disc is rubbing against the backing plate. I will remove them for now and see if I can find an old set or trim the later ones a bit more
