Fantastic work on a project that will be stunning when it's finished. Could I ask please, your sheet steel bender, (as shown in an earlier part of the thread,) is it home made ?? If so could you give some details ?? Nigel Thanks, yes we made the steel bender ourselves from some steel angle sections and square section we had lying around. We copied the design from some videos we saw on Youtube. there are plenty on how to make one. The tricky bit is the position of the hinges, the centre of the hinges has to in line with surface of the bending surfaces to make a sharp angle. |

I just caught up with this thread.
Very impressive work. it takes a lot of time to get it right, but it's very rewarding.
I noticed you're replacing the rearvalance and quarterpanels, make sure you testfit the rearbumper to match the curve when you're joining the quarter to the valance. even if you're not going to fit the bumpers, it will look weird if the curve is not correct.

Thanks  Yes we did try the bumper on, even to make sure the height of the bumper brackets was correct, as I replaced the trunk floor too, more on that in the next video. At the moment we are trimming the quarter panels and inner arch lips. Thanks for the tips, I'll put the bumper back on when its time to weld the quarter panels in place |

Thanks Nigel, its a long process but we enjoy making every episode. We try the panels many times but don't film every trial as it would be too repetitive. We're almost done repairing the rust, we should start prepping for paint by next year

Its been a while, but here's a video update of my project, all the replacement panels are welded in place, yay!
