With the RR show less than a couple of weeks away, I decided to finally crack on with lowering the Benz. There are probably quite a few other members who are furiously spannering away at their retros getting them ready for the show, so I thought I'd start a thread that people could show off / whinge / fish for moral support.
I'm doing the latter... so far I've managed to shear off two bolts, round off a wheel bolt, take the skin off of pretty much every extremity on my body AND uncover a load of grot that I need to sort under the wheel arch. Great start! The damper just refuses to come out, even with the heads of both bolts gone. Never simple is it?! I'll get there, but it's more of a PITA than the fronts were.
So yeah, I'm having a whinge. Anyone else undergoing projects for the show? Show me pics, show me love, show me I'm not alone! ;D

No pics just yet but so far in the last week I've Removed the horrible 6x9s my car came with and fitted some little 13cm components in the orig holes fitted some components in door pods in front doors and tweeters in the dash (but tried to do in a non-chav way. Tres difficile) I must say at this point I have no interest in playing loud music round the town circuit sprayed my wheels black, then tried on one, spraying the outside rims white to match the car and decided it looked awful and it messed up anyway so had to strip it all back again still got to fix my frontbumper, but I just cant be bothered at all. I think I'm just gonna park everywhere backwards. Looks better from that angle anyway. ;D

Does it help that i'm in a similar situation? I know why they call em breaker bars now arfer breaking head off my shocker bolt ;D getting hired help , if it works out though, i'm not far off last years CARS deadline dramas. MR2 is the back up plan and I have not even had the nod that MOT is compete yet two Cars at mechanics, not cool! ;D If your dampers are owt like mine they hook around the bolt drilling out may be a challenge, but so is getting used parts.... sorry wish I could help!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Looks better from that angle anyway. ;D That reminded me - I did do some good yesterday - finally re-attached my back bumper after it comically fell off on my way home a couple of weeks back. Looks 100 times less skanky now.

Reanimation, how are things looking? you're deffo coming eh? Seats still on offer if needed, and theres a couple of people going so shouldnt be a problem. Give me a shout if things don't get sorted. Also me and Irish Mark are available from Wednesday evening for last minute fixing so gimme a shout Benzboy, its a shame you fixed the rear really. could have teamed up, you park forward I'll park right behind you, no one can see your rear bumper or my front bumper ;D ...Edited cos it sounded gay, but tbh it still does ;D

Whats going to happen (100% with out fail )...... - Sort out someway of supporting the heater hose, that is dangling painfully close to the newly installed 4 branch manifold
- Mess about with the idle control valve (think it need replacing but a good clean won't do it any harm)
- Wind coilover down
- Drill air box
- Fit comedy AWOOGA horn
TBH the car could do with a good service, but I can't afford to do that until next month sooooo it's gonna have to wait!

Well, I'm glad I'm not alone! This place is great for moral support. I've seen so many people get their mojo back by everyone on RR rallying round them. Right! I've had me lunch so it's back to rolling around getting rust in my eyes! ;D
