An elderly friend has a G reg (1990?) Honda Accord 2 litre auto saloon. Its got around 30k on the clock, interior is mint bodywork excellent Is this retro yet or just an old curse word banger? Way too modern for me but just wondering if this is something that has potential?

Everything had potential. It's 26 years old so even by the age parameter (if one truly existed) then it is retro.

True - still think of it as a modern. Must be getting old...

Very very popular in the states. If I wasn't on my phone I would now stick up a load of pics of modified CB Accords.

What about a 1989 Honda Legend then? Was going to put it up on 'whats it worth?'. A friend did some bodywork on it and when it came to payment time was told to 'keep it'.

Sounds like they are still in the banger market then.

Sounds like they are still in the banger market then. Most definitely. The 'scene' for them is mainly North America based, there's not a great accessibility of parts this side of the pond, so they are more looked at as banger fodder. A clean one with an MOT is probably £5/600.

I may be wrong, but If you own a 67 beetle then I class that as vintage rather than retro, so a 26 yr old Honda would be a retro to me... but thats only my opinion of how i class stuff if ever i had to.

The beetle has been sold on, too had it a while it was time to pass it on to someone else. Now have a sunbeam rapier and Humber sceptre
Will get some pics of the Honda as its really clean, pretty sure if he could get £5/600 he would be happy with that.

Just my way of classifying stuff personally and to give you an idea of why a 1990's Honda can be retro.
