Thanks again for the kind comments people. It makes all the work worth while. I agree, the height looks spot on. As much as slammed cars look great, the practicality isn't there. Do you plan to fit different wheels? I do like a slammed car too, but you're right about the practicality. I did originally intend on fitting different wheels. Something period correct like TSW Stealths or similar. But to be honest, much to my friend's dismay, these original wheels are growing on me. Besides, the tyres are like new so I might as well just use them.

Small update. The drivers seat base was quite saggy, so I took it out to see if anything could be done about it. The springs were looking a bit stretched and one of them was actually broken. The foam was also looking a bit tired. So, for a quick fix, I just pulled off all of the springs and laid in an old floor mat that was pretty much the right size for the job. Pulled the springs back on, managed to get the broken spring stretched on over it too. I know it's a bit of a bodge, but it'll do for now. Put the seat back in. It feels a hell of a lot better than it did before, that's for sure. I will be taking the interior out in the future to give it a proper clean as it's looking a bit grubby at the moment. I'd also like to repair the holes in the bolsters of the drivers seat. I've already got my better half talked in to doing that for me. She sewed in a new bolster on my old Golf GTi a few years ago and did a cracking job of that. Went out for a blast about today. I've done about 150 miles since building the engine and haven't had any issues so it's all looking promising. Here we are boosting to a whopping 40kPa! Which is about 5.8psi. That's about as much boost as she gives. Can any other CA18ET owners verify this as being right for standard? Or should I expect more? I spoke to an old buddy who used to have a Silvia with the same engine. He said it only ever boosted half way up the positive side of the gauge, which is pretty much what this does. Can't expect much more from a tiny turbo I suppose. Finally, here she is, face to face with her new garage buddy.

Sounds about right - they are very much in the "low blow" category. Bit of a bleed valve and they're OK to about 10psi; after that the inlet temps soar so it needs an intercooler.

The interior seats from a GSXI are really comply. I say this as I have a GSXI and also a executive with leather seats but the GSXI seats are the best

This is how my exec sits Ooof!!! That looks clean! Let's see a pic of the whole car. What size tyres are they? I think mine is on 195/60/15. Is that right for standard? Yours look like a slimmer profile in that pic.

Where's that beach at? Looks nice!
Great car. My parents owned two bluebirds here. A brown one, last of the rwd models. It replaced dad's mk4 zodiac wagon. Then a blue one of this type but both wagons.
Never ever let them down.

Shame it's not warmer here though or we could maybe enjoy them a bit better!!!

Today a friend came along and gave me a hand to fit a Backflash!!! I'll try and get a picture in better light. I'm just delighted with it! One of my favourite 80's accessories. Thanks to ud-uk for making it up for me.

I haven't updated for a while so here goes... We decided to go to the Retro Rides Gathering this year. All I wanted to do to the car was refit the original twin pea shooter exhaust as there was no way I was going to endure the deep drone of the "Big Bore 4" for 1200 miles! So, I quickly welded a new skin around the old back box to seal it up and stuck it back on the car. She now sounds normal again! Another job I did before we left for the show was redo the pin striping as it had peeled off in places and was looking a bit untidy. Here she is at the Gathering... We all had a great time at the show. Thanks to all the Retro Rides people who made it happen!

I managed to source a set of 16" TSW Stealths in the correct pcd. I really like the TSW wheels of the 80's and 90's. I'm just waiting on spigot rings to arrive before I can use them, but of course I had to bolt them on for a quick photo or two! Please excuse the Honda centres, the Nissan ones are on their way.

Great car. Yours looks so good lowered, its just right. My dad has a red 1.8 glx in pretty good condition and thats a really bice drive. The only thing is though i think i prefer it on the original wheels. Each to their own though. The tsw wheels do look good.
