I got some cheap plastic adaptors so I could fit some slightly better speakers. Something like this www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/ct25vx01-speaker-fitting-adapter-for-vauxhall-astra-omega-zafiraAt £4 a pair it wasn’t worth the hassle of trying to make them (especially given my wood butchering skills ) I did see some better ones with pigtail plugs to use the original Vauxhall plugs that would have saved messing with the wiring afterwards too And that sub is awesome, the box is absolutely riddled with the 90s

Another wheeled update. Fancied some 17s again, couldn't find any i liked, well I could but I wasn't spending 500 on wheels on a 500 car then these Pentas turned up, 2 new tyres 2 good ones for 120 delivered. Being Vaux they fit properly, I thought they might be too modern for it but I really like them, they're in good nick too.

I now actually have a stereo that doesn't melt above whispering volume and has some bass didnt get any pics as I was trying to dodge the rain (it still hasn't rained) but very satisfied for a 25 quid outlay all in

Week off this week, Mondeo is in for MOT Thursday (is it just me that books holidays around the cars MoT?) So gave that a deep clean, pretty much good to go. I've spent a few hours here and there patching up and gluing back together my other GSi bumper that got dragged off a few months ago, I hate having a foglight bumper, sick of being asked where they are or when I'm getting some, they command silly money now (which is why I sold them in the first place) and wouldn't work even if I had them. So spent yesterday giving it a ghetto paint job and slapped it on today. Splitter isn't sitting right but thats absolutely shagged anyway, and they unobtainable on their own, or decent money attached to a bumper - even more if that bumper has foglights i really need a white 1.8 GSi bumper to come along, and I really need to find my unmodified tow eye cover, not spending 60 on another All running tickety boo now, had a new Sportex mid section last week as well, got 11 years out the last one but was pinholed everywhere.

Looking good pal. Why don't you lose the strap from the towing eye and either plastic weld the cover from behind and give it a skim with some fibrefill on the front you'd never know then it had ever been fitted!

A tragedy has befallen the Astra... up nice and early and thought I'd take the kids for a run out, see if there was an impromptu get together on the promenade, but it was filthy so swung by the hand car wash (good job they did too). On pulling out, there was a huge bang on the gear change, which sounded almost exactly like a huge backfire, drove fine though. Didn't find anything worthy of stopping for so went to get the boy some bike stabilisers (and failed), and upon getting out realised my drivers rear wheel was well and truly tucked up in the wheel arch. Shows how harsh the ride is when you don't notice you have virtually no suspension on one corner so drove it home and grabbed the Mondeo. Can't get new springs this month as the Mondeo and a weekend away has cleaned me out, so if anyone has any stashed away please hit me up

I’ve got van/estate springs, but think they’ll be wayyyyy too tall
Lucky it happened like it did though I suppose

They are, thanks though hatch rear springs lower an estate/van 60mm though, which is where my standard springs went, and then sold on the car...

Big big thanks to johnthesparky for not only giving me the spare steering arms off his van, but organising to have them sent up as well, they arrived today so will try and strip them down Sunday, had new adjusters and track rod ends for months but wanted to build a set off the car. Thanks again John:)

Thanks again John:) No worries, just all worked out timewise... to be fair, I just put them in a bag, Rhys did the lions share of the work driving across the country, picking up his own car parts and dropping off mine I did squirt everything with wd40 before I bagged them, but also noticed that one of the track rod ends has a sheared bolt, so imagine they’ll need a bit of work to loosen up, as that hadn’t caused me a problem

Got a present for this (more so the Mondeo as its lower) off the wife for out anniversary, so Saturday is the day my new rear springs will go on. These wheels are really annoying me, I like them but the paint is toast, someone in the past has hand brushed them black with what is either household gloss or hammerite, been sanding for ages but it just clogs or won't cut back so done what I could until I can get them blasted. They're going back on for a bit and the 17s will be going for sale, as I want a more rally type wheel if I'm going to do 17s. In the ghetto...

it does look like a juvenile robin. i read a thing about them where they don't get red breasts until they are adults. adult robins are so aggressive to each other that the juvenile probably wouldnt make adulthood. an evolutionary defence mechanism so to speak
not so fast mr robin, whos your friend ? oh him, nobody, just a sparrow....
