I'm stupidly excited about these! Westycapri's transit thread reminded me of the existance of this kind of power window kit. Ive been looking out for some since. After quite a while a pair show up! Nice and cheap too.Think I may need to swap them over from LHD to RHD, and hopefully one of the adapters will fit my spindles. I wanted electric windows but the regulators don't lend themselves to it, that and the fact most kits are rubbish had been putting me off. Period accessories though? Everyone loves them I don't even care if there rubbish. I'm expecting them to be ok though, dint hitachi make oem power window motors? More photos once ive ruined my doors/door cards. Edit, just worked out they already are RHD but i think I'm going to have to swap them round as my winders are in a stupid place. Haha amazing they're brilliant. Where did you find them? Did they pop up on eBay? I've only got one... could mix it up with a second one and go to the next level of sophistication as the passenger could also have an electric window

Since I saw yours ive been searching for makes. I think there have been a couple of different makes and stuff sold under different names in different counties. Keep searching images etc. I didn't look for a month or so and then I found a picture of hitachi ones. Searched for them, found another pic that happened to be on a live ebay auction.
They seem mega rare!
I will have issues though. There are 4 spi dle adapters for different splines, all to go onto a male spline. My regulators have female splines so ill have to make or modify something.
These are a pair, drivers side even controls passengers too.

So, these windows are a daft idea. I should probably sell them to someone with a cool old J car, but I'm persevering. This is my winder mech, male spline handle. This is the motor unit. It comes with 5 adapters (the black plastic bit) which slide over the normal male spline regulator and picks up drive from the motor from the 4 plastic points. I made this adapter out of polymorph. It fits in the regulator and the adapter fits the new part. I didnt just use a polymorph piece to go direct from regulator to motor as the length of the splines section gives a little leeway when mounting the motor. As you may be able to tell, it didnt like the torque. Window went down fine but didnt like going up. So I need to make a new adapter. Ill see what I can turn up out of ally. I don't really want to modify the regulators. I want to be able to switch back to handles if these break. I'm also going to mount the motors different. They should just bolt to the door cards, but I'm going to solid mount them to the door. As I say, I should give in, but I really want to use these if I can. Annoyingly, I have the right supplied adapter to make these motors work on the door release mech

Spent the last few hours making an adapter. If it works ill put in the hours to make another. It looked wonderfull out the lathe. Like art. F1 spec turning. Stunning it was. No pics unfortunately. Then after many hours attacking said wonder with a hacksaw, mini burr and a file. Using satin black as engineers blue, I ended up with this mess. It fits better than it looks!

While the regulator was out I gave it a good clean with brake cleaner and re greased. Fitted it back in and its better. The adapter fits and I tried the motor and it winds the window up and down. It does struggle a little winding the window up though.
They arent that hard to crank but they are heavy windows and don't crank up as easily as most cars.
Ill see what else I can do to try and get them winding easier, don't want to burn these motors out.

It does have the spring. I had intended to try and add some more pressure but I don't think thats the problem. The cogs were so full of hard grease and grit that once id freed it off it released the spring tension like a bear trap!
The mech works well, there is one section where the lift stiffens, my guess is there is a pinched section in the felt channels or a bend in one of them.
Ill have a proper look over the weekend.

Not been too well so not finished the electric window install but its looking like I can make it work. Ive been after some speakers since I got the van. I didnt want to spend too much though and didnt want anything too new looking. I found these, never been fitted. 3 way 80's? Pioneer. Love the look of them. Need to make some pods with pockets to mount them to the doors now. I think they are 90w max if I remember right, which I'm hoping means the sensitivity is quite high so they will work nice without a separate amp. I'm not after big bass or high volume. Its more for low level radio while parked.

Oh, if you cant read the grill badge, they are ts1655.
I currently have some modern sony dab rubbish as a headunit. I may keep that in, or replace with a pioneer or blaupunkt one. I also have a pioneer ke4300 which is fantastic. May use that with a cd changer and an add in dab unit but don't want to clutter the dash up with stuff.

One side is in, just cleaning up the reg for the Passenger side. Wiring is just looped for now. Works though! It struggles a tiny bit to lift but is fine when the engine is running so I think ill take a better permanent live direct from the battery. Ill order a delay relay now. I realise I could probably have done this, and done it better, with transit parts. The regs are the same basic design as the bedfords, but these things are too cool!.

BACKFLASH! Wifes not so keen but I think it looks ace! Tempted to run the stripes down the side windows too. Passenger power window is in too now so time to sort out the speaker mounting.

Back flash looks ace. Leccy Windows look ace! When I see a backflash I always think of the static earthing straps with a red lighning bolt on it. Frustratingly i can't find a pic of one to demonstrate so not sure if I've dreamt it but I think you should get 1 (or 2 for dbl cool points)
Meant to ask how did you go about fitting propex heating and where did you install it in the van. Want to do it at somepoint just weighing up whether to stick it under the bench seats or in one of the cupboards
Cheers

Ill post pics later but I put it in the cupboard under the sink There was a plate rack which sat infront of the wheel arch. I took it out and put heater there. Vent comes out the cupboard door.

It's behind that new board. Vents out here. Gas line runs under floor trim along back doors and through the tall cupboard. Exhaust and air in for combistion go through the floor. Exhaust vents into wheel arch. Air in for heating is vented in through big cupboard. Works well but I'm going to add some sound damping around the duct.
