Bit of a cock-eyed title. I never planned to go this far on my truck, but it has progressively got to this point. Paul Y has offered to help and supervise this process. Most of you will know I know nothing about motors etc, but am happy to learn and skin my knuckles. So my question is actually this...... Are there any walk in shops in the Medway, Maidstone area in Kent where one can walk in and buy parts off the shelf to rebuild the motor. Stuff like gasket sets, valves etc. Thank you for any advice or guidance. Remember this......l  Cleaned up a bit. Resulting is a clean engine and gearbox that I can now work on.  |

Hi There used to be I thought, a Corvette specialist at Maidstone but when I did a search This came up at Snodland, Kent. claremont.corvette.co.uk/ I pass no comments about there prices or anything else because I've never dealt with them. There is another at Chingford in East London, Same comment again. I know that is not very helpful but perhaps someone else could comment. There is Real Steal in West London who I have dealt with for Rover V8 parts and they do Chevy as well, they are competitive and helpful. www.realsteel.co.uk/ Colin |

Can also use Steve Lang But prefer a walk in service I know where the Corvette place is and am under the impression they charge Corvette prices but could be wrong. |

If you're thinking corvette related there is also DART in Leigh just down the road from me (bit further than Maidstone I'm afraid), not sure what they offer services wise or if they have parts off the shelf though so might be worth a call first: Dart the Corvette People Penshurst Road Leigh Nr Tonbridge TN11 8HL tel: 01732 838551 Otherwise Modus are the guys that sorted my A35 engine ready for its rebuild - truly superb guys. Again not quite walk in and a bit further away, but they know their stuff and I would imagine they can lay their hands on most things if you call first - watching their machines hone a V8 is somewhat mesmerising!  |

Rian, There are two Customville in Chadwell Heath and American Auto Parts in Braintree. Used the former but never the later. There is also USA Automotive and a few others than do next day delivery. P. |
