Not desperate to sell this, I just havent had time to touch in for afew weeks and have just lined up more work so wont be touching it for a while longer now. I know there was a user on here looking for one, but he hasnt been back in touch so heres a sale advert.
1989, correctly registered on a Q plate.
Sabre Sprint MK1.5 (MK2 quad front lights but with the MK1 opening glass hatch so a little rare in those terms)
Only about 100 approx sprints were made, right here in Wallsend, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Its fibreglass with a floorpan similar to that of a mini (infact the company went on to produce fibreglass minis)
Its a mini based kit car, so runs mini front and rear beam(with coilovers) with a 1000cc engine currently fitted.
It DOESNT have a current mot, last mot expired 2011.
I got this from a friend who had it since 2010 and I know the previous owner before him. The car has been in the north east for a good while.
Since me getting this, I have done alot of work to get this ready for MOT.
- 7.5" Brake kit fitted with goodridge braided hoses (run 10" wheels if you wanted too)
- Front subframe brake pipe
- Front tiebar bushes
- Rear wheel bearings
- Front wheel bearing
- NSR radius arm
- Front balljoints
- Track rod ends
- Front shockers
- Set of used 5 spoke RFX alloys (with new yokohama tyres)
- MK2 indicator stalk replaced (old one was broken mount)
- Dashboard replaced and wiring sorted so it all functions.
- Gearlinkage bobbins replaced
I replaced the old flimsy aluminium dash with a sheet of 3mm stainless brushed steel, fitted a mini centre speedo and toggle switches for the lights, wipers, washers, spots, engine fan etc.
For mot, it would just need minor bits really like the doorcards refitting etc. Drivers door is stripped as I planned to fit central locking, remove/smooth over the door lock on the outside. Theres afew marks in the fibreglass, but nothing major, would benefit from a respray but could be used as is. My plan was to paint it white again and fit tiger stripes (mk2/mk3 escort style).
Theres bags of opportunity to modify this if you desired, including putting a engine in the back as it has a huge space (rear seat/boot area) so something like a MGF rear subframe could be grafted in.
Its £1200 ono - I know I can split this for that money as the mini boys will know the prices of the parts. Its located in Newcastle Upon Tyne, North east england. I cant deliver at present as no trailer. Like i said, not that fussed about selling it, but someone could have it finished for next spring whereas ill have it sat here gathering dust whilst other projects get done.
