First lip is as shiny as it's going to get by hand for now: I did buy a drill disc and lambswool buffing pad which is what bought out the shine a little more. There are still some deeper scratches from jumping sandpaper grits but it'll do for now, if it bothers me I'll mount it on a car and polishing it in the air Now just the other three to go....

In an effort to get the project moving again I recently trying to get the car itself moving... Namely by changing the crankshaft sensor. Stripped out the lights and front end some more first: The sensor sits on the front of the head/block under the thermostat housing a pipework, which means getting a decent purchase on it was difficult. The sensor was also jammed in place due to the age of everything. It was a right pain to get out! I mangled the sensor trying to pry it out: Having just broken the rust/corrosion seal: The mangled end then held it stuck in place, doh. Molegrips and swearing prevailed: Then I went to fit the new sensor... Which doesn't fit. . You can see the orientation of the fixed flying lead means it fouls the block and can't be fitted. I've returned this to EuroCrapParts and I'll hopefully have a new suitable sensor soon. In the mean time I also cleaned up the headlight rings: They do need a full rebuild/refurb eventually - but I'll get round to that another time: S'all for now.

I've had a lot going on with job changes, house moves etc! I'm hoping in the new year I'll have funds and time to commit to getting this back on the road 🙂

Nice looking car, The E34 is still a great motor, the blue really suits it, (I used to think they only looked good in white but would deffinitely have that blue on one.)
