Did someone say arch gap?? Not the best pic, but that's sitting on 7x15's with 195s up front and 225's behind. Part of that is due to a lack of spring correction on the front (I've lost at least 80kg from the front end) and also protection of the slightly low hanging sump..

I'm looking forward to this progressing as Scimitars are difficult to get low without cutting channels in the outriggers for the exhausts and changing cross members and gearbox mounts. I've been looking into air suspension on mine, it's just the limited space due to the upper wishbones and probably the axle front end looks similar to the lotus setup, and the rear looks dead easy, exhaust not a problem if I use side exit. the problem is just doing it on a low budget

You sound a little undecided about that.

No I increased those to resemble 17-18" original. 14" slotmags might be an option or even lotus elite/eclat solid style, getting harder to find but when they do appear they are cheap as chips. I think you wanted to go banded steelies though?

It runs under the rear axle already. You're close on the front suspension - TR4A/5/6 based (so the bigger brother of the Herald based stuff used by Lotus). Making it low for looks should be easy, Making it go round corners afterwards - well, it would be easier to drop the body than the chassis. It was moulded as a floorpan and an outer originally (like most, I guess?)

Absolutely. Here's when I first put mine on adjustable shocks Looked good but the manifolds were 1.5" off the ground. Standard doe pipes would provide another inch and a bit. It's not just the manifolds that cause issue. The gearbox mount plate falls victim to speedbumps even on subtly lowered cars. There are ways round it but there's always another issue. Hence why I'm looking into air so it can sit low but be raised when needed

I may make the whole car a complete dog but have a really epic set of alloys! just see how it pans out? when I have it slammed will see if the smaller wheels look right?

The exhaust has many options, could just go out the side and have side pipes, or reverse from the manifolds so down pipes go forward like TVR and then up and out the bonnet! 6 stacks out the bonnet with those little exhaust flaps like found on tractors would look really cool.......

I say bonnet. It would look seriously cool, or up the side of the car like a lorry

Front uprights, any custom/swap options? not keen on the trunnion and would like to raise the stub axle (spindle) which would lower the car a fair amount before even using air springs. In the USA they have many custom front uprights with dropped spindles (the stub axle is raised higher in the upright to lower the car) link to a USA website notice the uprights with higher spindles? also check out the work that's involved in slamming a car. www.trucktrend.com/how-to/chassis-suspension/1201tr-kp-components-bolt-on-air-suspension-get-down/#photo-01

You can get 17" steels from a VW T5 camper but these will be 5x120 PCD, which you can then use brakes from that or even then go down the BMW route. I think that this is also similar to a model of Jaguar XJ not sure which.
By the way this is a brilliant idea, love these!

Just brought some new front brake discs, front caliper rebuild kit, brake lines, suspension bushes, and complete set of new nuts and bolts for all the front end suspension parts. Every thing is rusted solid! So also brought a shot blaster cabinet!
I thought the parts would be easy and cheap to source like an MGB or Morris Minor?
Hell no! Most parts are hard to find and bloody expensive!

Instead of lowering the suspension itself, could you not "bodydrop" it?
