I have just bought an old micra, and its an ok little car, but it smells like the previous owner has had 10 dogs living it.
Any tips for getting rid of the smell? I have never had to give an interior anything other that a light hoover so really don't know where to start.

Use one of those fabric odour eliminators - you really need to clean the fabric to get rid of the smell otherwise it will just keep coming back.
On really bad fabric problems I've used Vanish foam carpet cleaner - check a small area first.

Used them once a week roughly when a hire car came back smelling of Cannabis. Works a treat. Just set the aircon to recirculate air in the cabin, stick it at max and leave it to go.

I called into tesco and bought this lot to make a start. Pledge to clean all the dashboard. 2 tins of febreeze. A neutradol odour destroyer. A can of foam carpet cleaner. I've cleaned all the plastic with the pledge, opened the neutradol tub and put it in the door pocket, and blasted the car with febreeze a few times. The foam carpet cleaner is the type where you spray it on and leave it and it drys itself quickly. It's getting there, the really strong smell has gone, but it's still there. I think next I need a cleaner which I can put onto the seats and carpet and scrub it till its gone.

I had an Omega with teh same problem. In the end i pulled out all the interior and carperts, cleaned the floor pan with bleach and kitchen cleaner, then wet vacced the cr*p out of everything and let it dry. It was just barable with some magic trees.
