Well that was a week from hell. Don't need one of them again in a hurry. Preferably ever. Not at liberty to say quite why,but it will all come out in the wash. Friday night saw me get 9 hours sleep, more than any two nights put together this week. Saturday I decided I just needed to immerse myself in something not related to work,so decided to carry on with the boot floor. Decided to leave the scanning for now,and carry on with what I had. Combined method of getting the drawing, using both conventional measuring and Cad. Tools out Discovered very early on, via triangulation, why it seemingly wouldn't scale proportionally. That issue sorted( numpty measurement issue due to the part being rotated 180 degrees on the computer, and looking at the wrong dimension π) Slow process of verifying everything on the original, but very therapeutic, and just what I need to get my mind off other issues. Cleaning up well That's about as far as I can go using that photo. Will start a separate cad drawing using this photo next Once that's been through the raster to vector conversion,I will scale and clean the cad drawing as before, then merge the two dawings into one. Am hoping to get the basic outlines of the floor finished today π

WOW!!!!
Ive just spent about 2 months on and off reading this thread from start to here and I'm totally blown away by the work you have done so far and the challenges you have faced, lesser people would have walked away long time since
My dad had a RX2 coupe when we lived in SA, we were in the Transvaal. Ahhh so many happy memories of the place and that car, it would literally buzz everywhere. When we came back he was tempted to bring it back to the UK but at the last minute didn't bother, I have yearned for one ever since but now they are too rare.
Keep up the good work man, you are such an inspiration

So where were we? Ah yes, Johnny Bravo and the Bootfloor of doom....π Got gifted an old ,but fairly large computer screen from one of the guys at work,so decided that could be used in the garage whilst sorting out the drawings for the boot floor. Sunday dawned bright and early so decided to crack on. Went to plug screen in, curse word! non hdmi cable, old type din connector. Clever idea for the day, not, letβs shoot into Hastings and get a cable quickly....Wrong...Epic fail...You see, somebody had the bright idea of staging a half marathon there that day. The Cockwomble who decided to make sure that the route included every single road in or out of Hastings should be shot. Plain and simple. In front of their family. Just like a certain Mr Clarkson suggests occasionally. What a balls up. Their traffic management plan was more laughable than Brexit. It consisted of directing traffic around the shithole! that is Hastings,in ever decreasing circles..Pretty obvious when you pass the same intersection three times an hour π‘. So around and around and around for three hours until the streets were devoid of sweaty ars overweight men and women that really looked like they were not enjoying their day out,and then all traffic wardens do a Cinderella and disappear, leaving all the by now ,totally pissedoff motorists to make their own arrangements to get out of the ensuing traffic jam.... So that scuppered my master plan. As this had happened by the time I had got back Had planned on taking new photos of the boot floor with the sun directly overhead so I wouldnβt get shadows, but had missed that by a couple of hours. And the sun hasnβt been seen since. Well, we all know you donβt come to a England for the weather...Turn the clocks forward for summer and it snows three days later ππ So, again, use what I have. Dirty photos. Not that type... Shadows create noise like this Quick clean with the magic eraser results in this Insert new red circles into known positions, scale accordingly Then check angle between the two circles and rotate accordingly Merge the two drawings that they are not overlapping, merely on the same screen Then translate the one lot of graphics that itβs centered over a known position, and we are good to continue And continue we will....regardless ππ

It's simple, if you read the thread. Johnny is taking arty pictures of the boot, to send to his Rastafarian mate Victor, who's going to draw them in 2.5d and frame them as artistic art pieces.
More or less.

Pretty sure that you could probably have a go at printing this and flogging it to the Tate Gallery

Sorry to prove you wrong Mr Bravo....but shadows arent green. I checked, nope definitely not green.

Rust is lighter than Carbon Fibre which is why old Fords are so fast.

Heβs going to draw the car, and then print a new one.... But because thatβs too easy, heβs going to print it out of rust and then make a billet one (I found that bit again, Iβll post tomorrow... definately!)

Any ideas what caused it to swerve in to the oncoming traffic? That wasnt just a little bit of fire either, from the video footage

Yikes that went up quickly.
As you say, fair play to the guys who got him out, can't have been good for his son to watch either.
