First bootfair of the season today. Very full of sellers. 90% probably just clearing rubbish from homes. Pink sh!t. Interesting observation was that there were very few non English speakers. I guess Covid, inflation, lack of employment etc all impacted that sector of the market. What I did find was the following. 6 Plant pot dollies £5.00 Unused/new Denim shorts £1.00 Motel sign for my shed 50p Two Bee signs 25p each Angel wings for Sally’s shed £1.00 Pink giraffe toy for Bonnie 20p For mate Craig. New yellow wheel £2.00 2 mobility scooter wheels £5.00 Chicken £1.00 Another bootfair tomorrow. Will think about it today. May give a miss.

I picked this up yesterday from an autojumble stand at a car show rather than at a boot sale - Sundays were cancelled because of weather, unfortunately. I haven't got any N-gauge rolling stock, I don't really want to start buying any, but this is a brand new track pack, it's complete and I was surprised what a bargain it turned out to be, as the RRP seems to be £60+.

A lot of stalls at both local car boots this morning, and I happened to be standing next to two when the sellers put anything decent back in the van and shouted "It's all free, take what you want". Apart from some books and DVDs, I got this box of mains-related stuff: and this print: I got another thing, but I can't put a picture up yet.

The other thing was this toolbox. It was on an "anything for a pound" stall and I didn't notice it until just after he'd changed that to "just take it all away". It needs a bit of refurbishment, I think it's been sitting in a puddle and on fire. It'll do for home, I think.

Quite a bit more free stuff today, a plastic basket with a load of mains 3-pin plugs in it which I actually picked up because it had some door handles that I thought might fit my door at home. They don't, but it doesn't matter. Another stall (who often gives stuff away) provided some books for reading over winter along with some mains blanking plates and other bits and pieces, a "Leica" box that just has three rolls of black and white negatives in it, and I gave a pound for a projector that may or may not work. On the other sale I gave a fiver for a digital multimeter - there's an issue with one of the probes, but I think it's just a poor contact. I haven't tried the projector yet. I don't think it's anything that special, but it has VGA and some other inputs if it works at all. It's from the guy that goes to "free, take it all away" quite early on, and I've had quite a lot of free stuff from him so I didn't begrudge a quid on the off-chance it's any use. Failing that, it's a handy carrying case. Oh and another fiver for a bag of model railway track that I'd almost forgotten about.

Sign is for akku who does understand a bit of grown up innuendo and saucy signs. Christmas tree hauler is for Paul Y and VW Bus and Coke items all go to craigrk who collects Coke stuff. Bowl for George and various mugs for the main mug here.

Two busy boot sales today because of the weather (though I suspect one would have been even busier if the sun had backed off a bit) but nothing at all to buy or get for free.
