Didn't damp it but I did Hoover it half to death about 4 times lol
It's come out pretty good, couple of runs on the b pillars that should polish but all the main areas are good, there is plenty on it!
I'm having a couple of days off now before I start on the doors. Painted the underside of the boot and bonnet today so the topside will get done same time as the doors in a couple of weeks. Driving it into the other garage will be nerve racking !

Utterly superb concept and the execution looks really good too. Glad it’s a Austin/BL/Rover mishmash rather than a drivetrain from a different marque. Superb work, following with interest!

Nine hours masking pulled off in 20min, almost a shame! It's come out well, a bit of polshing needed when its hardend fully here and there but how far do I go? Started putting bits of grills back on, want to get the front spillter mounted but I really should crack on with the doors!

Thanks man, just moved it into my single garage so we can paint the doors etc. Scary stuff, soft paint, tight doorway and no mirrors! Its staying in there for a couple of weeks to dry properly, the central heating pipes run though there I'm looking into getting it an msa logbook but yes, it will be mot'd

Mind shedding some light on what type of paint you have used, and any specific equipment you'd recommend that a noob might not have thought of?
I plan to paint my Mini and Viva projects in my garage using celly as not too happy to play around with 2k

Yes everything is blue lol, painted with 2k solid colour. Mixed 50 / 50 with activator, sprayed with a gun and compressor. Little touches required like having a liquid collector on the airline but otherwise straight forward. We put plenty on so you get a nice rounded finish and it will always polish back.
Prep was just getting everything level and scuffing everywhere with pads, 2k drys quickly then takes about 2 weeks to harden.
Full overalls and good quality mask. There is an argument about having an air Fed mask but we don't paint that often.

Hmmmmm.......paint to activator should be 2:1 so 33% activator. Bet it cured quick! Not so good for quality of paint though. Use less activator next time. You can also add up to 10% (good quality) thinners for a better finish - but be careful as it can cause runs more easily, I find about 5% thinners is a good compromise.

Sorry your right I must have breathed too much in lol. For the exterior I bought 5l of paint and 2.5 of activator, we did also add a dash of thinners.
The interior, engine bay, cage etc used 2l of paint and 1 of activator.
Used 3l doing the outside and still have doors and top of bonnet to do, 2l left and 1l of activator so I meant 2:1 lol
