Use to have a type 44 Audi 100 Avant Quattro with an oettinger engine conversion done - it was an animal - but 16mpg and a 90 mile daily commute sucked! Its on the list - 1.9 TDi PD engine preferred - i got 200 bhp out of my old Fabia one! I hear you can get decent power from tdi's, mine is still more or less stock but plenty of time to play (touch wood), it's only on 190k... I guess you'll be aware of the awesome fuel economy having had pd power before. Mine often gets roughly 600miles between fill ups!

Ive messed about with superchargers before (polo G40) love the sound and the linear increase in boost right through the rev range. I already have about 2/3 M45's kicking about. If i could get it running on that then maybe an M90. 200bhp would be my aim. and some small choice upgrades.... (wheels, brakes, suspension, LSD, front seats. Maybe try and get a set of late 940 rear seats with the 3rd 3 point belt for the family - a half cage in the back for the dog and space left for parm, luggage etc.
May have to sell either the Jetta or my Mk2 Golf though.............

I've been looking for an M90 for a while, getting hard to find and bloody expensive too.... Need it for a T5 engined RWD Mk3 Escort, prob end up with a Quaife Type 9 or Cossie T5 in it I suppose.... Would be interested in an M45 if you wanna sell one.....

Ive got one thats good and useable condition. but its drive has been modified to fit onto a Polo G40 - so useless for anything else! One is a delivery mile one which is still in the box (pretty sure its a phase 5 one) and i also have one off a Works Cooper S with the 19% smaller pulley on it. But its got a nasty bearing noise!
Not something i want to get rid of at the moment - but maybe in time!
If your having issues finding an M90 - why not go with a Rortex??

Funnily, I ended up buying this It's quite slow but it suits the boatlike suspension, boot isn't that big because the floor is high but when you fold the seats it's big enough, it's comfy and quiet, AWD is useful in the snow and ground clearance useful for speedbumps, and short range is cool when driving uphill (slow engine + tall diff ratio = second gear all too often otherwise). We'll see how it fares in the future.
