Hiya Foad, any chance you could have a word with Derksine about posting the parts that Bogbasic on 300 mania bought from him 3 years ago? Ta. I'm guessing he still hasn't sent anything since the last time he said he was actually going to do it? I'll let him know again but feel free to harass him on Facebook Unfortunately I don't have a number for him. I wasn't using the Renault all that much since buying the Proton so took the opportunity to sell it on. I also bought a really boring late 90's hatchback. That's the problem with a lot of 90s cars, they're just really good at being cars, no more, no less. It's a bonny little thing and the red really suits it but it's not something you can really get excited about. I assume this is the formerly Boll one?

Four fresh spaces to fill. Wonder what you'll acquire next. Funnily enough I did have something in mind. I've been trying to sell my Fiat twin cam engine and running gear for a while with little interest so thought I'd buy a Lada I'd previously owned and just get on with fitting the Fiat engine. |

I managed to get it up on the ramp, it looks fairly solid underneath. There's a few areas of surface rust in places, one of the inner sills looks to have been welded in the past but looks like it might get away with cleaning up and treating rather than any welding. I'm not really seeing it somehow. We had a go at starting it by hitting the starter with a hammer until it started turning, yesterday it was just clicking so getting it to just turn over was a step in the right direction. It isn't getting a spark at the leads, there's power to the coil and there's a spark at the points, the previous owner said it was the condenser at fault so will need to order one and see what happens. I got a couple of other things done on other cars, I fitted a pair of tyres to the front of the Proton, it no longer wheelspins in the wet and I fitted a starter motor to the mk2 Polo, it now seems to start and run ok. There's still a few bits it will need for an mot but it's not far off. |

Luckily I had some offcuts from a red 305 so started to patch them back together. The other grey 305 was having some brake fluid loss from the rear cylinders so I replaced them and bled the brakes. Spent a bit of time trying to get the Skoda to run but think the timing or firing order is wrong, replaced the condenser, ht leads, rotor arm, points and distributor cap. It's getting spark and fuel but could only manage some pops and bangs and wouldn't run even when tow starting it for a mile or so. The spark is a little bit orangey instead of blue so perhaps it's not as strong as it should be. |

I found another Audi 80 going cheap locally so went and bought it this afternoon. It's the silky smooth 5 cylinder model. It was sold to me as a non runner but with the help of some easy start, fuel started coming through the lines and into the filters and it started running. I drove it around the yard, it's really quite smooth. It's had a new pair of wings and a new sill fitted which need painted. I have all of the other bits to put it back together. |

I spent a good portion of the day tidying, throwing out old tyres and swapping tyre/wheels etc. Mrs Foad helped out by fixing the rear lights on the polo by rewiring them and fitting new tyres onto the steel wheels. The petrol 305's tyres were really curse word so I swapped for the rallye steels from the diesel estate which have decent winter tyres fitted. He lent me an orbital sander to help with it which was nice of him.
