Hey........Mr. Reaction Time!!! Do my eyes decieve me or did you cut a 0.43, that ain't bad at all!!! A pair of shagged 165/60x12's off a Mini would drop your gearing a bit more and shave a bit of time off. Well done though, it's going in the right direction

1700 crossflow, full race head, Kent 254 cam and some serious rubber up frotn should see those times come down. I ran a 17 dead in my Anglia with a set of already shagged (and curse word) tyres, the stock 35 year old 1200 gearbox and a throttle that wasn't opening fully so you can get them times down a bit!!! Engine was a 1700 crossflow, stage 3 head, Kent 244 cam and a single 40 Weber DCOE. Once I'd sorted out the throttle stop, noticed I had the wrong chokes in the carb, swapped to a 2000E gearbox and got some decent rubberage under it I reckon it's down in the 15s now.

Were you not putting a XR2 crossflow in? Not bad though, sure I read that the PPC Roller was slower than that.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I always wondered how they got them that powerful but this is how...

(or am I being stupid?)

That's pretty cool Keep at it! So many ways to improve your times on the strip, right down to little seemingly insignificant things. We should have a "drag tips 101" thread ;D 19.99 for those carbs? Frigging bargain! Right, I'm off to draw up a quad-downdraught manifold for my RV8 using those ;D

apparently the 1000 are OTT for a 1.1 and i would be better off with 600 or even 400 carb but they might go on the 1600 afterwards i know of a few 1600 x'flows on bike carbs never seen it done on 1.1's all people rabbit on about is 'there aint no replacement for dissplacemen' which i totally agree with (id fit a 5.7 chevy if i could ) but at the moment i want to build (on a budget) a quick 1.1 okay its not going to be quick quick but hopefully make people smile and ill enjoy it

Good for you, the path less trodden and all that. I'd like to see a well tuned 1100 more than a well tuned 1600 crossflow Good luck with it

What cam are you using? I am pretty sure that Kent Cams do an uprated cam designed for the 1.1 xflow, anyone else.

I think you can make that 1.1 into a real little roadburner with some effort. Better fuelling, a lairy cam, build the bottom end up real strong (ARP bolts/studs and decent bearings), have a go at statically balancing the bits and go from there....Port and polish the head a bit and make sure the ignition system is really up to it and raise the CR a bit....Would be great fun ;D Penski, thinking of this: Except with bike carblets .......and a nice hood scoop ;D
