Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

Having read the article, there are a few mistakes many revolving around the Datsun model terminology and engine spec etc. ..I could draw up a large list. The biggest oversight is the article does not give credit to Nigel (spotted laurel), who was the one who put me in touch with the seller. If SL had not done his bit, I would not have been the proud ownerof this 610. The pictures are ubber fab , especially the centrefold. YES, a complete A3 datsun pin up ;D My aim with both the MP & Banzai articles was to take the old skool into the mainstream media and spread the retro lurve message

I haven't bought it yet, but did read most of it in the local newsagents (too big a queue, but I will get it if just for the pic's). Articles like this always make those kind of errors, I always think it's a shame they don't send a draft out to someone in a club just to check up on some facts. But hey, facts are dull aren't they?
Whatever, great to see the retro message being spread further. I rarely look at Banzai nowadays, do they regularly have older stuff? I suspect if they do it's something from USA or Oz that a freelancer has sent in. Datman had his 180Y (120Y B210 with CA18ET) in there a few years ago, and I hear a rumour there might be something else in there soon that may interest one or two of us here.

Nige I have always wondered why magazines don't bother checking the facts with the owners/clubs etc priorto going to print . Yes, it would be a pain tracking the articles, but the reality is that they would then publish the correct data. A prime example of such an issue is that almost all magazines quote that Goetz was the designer of the 240Z just because this has been in print for the last 20 odd years in magazines. Yet, the owners club & enthusiats can tell you different !! I was having a chat with some editors about Old skool J cars and asked them why they always featured US/Aussie cars and nothing UK based. The response was that most of the Old Skool J stuff in the UK was rusty etc etc... Needless to say, they now think different after I sent them some pictures of UK based old retro cars! Lets look forward to the next RETRO dose in Banzai

Looks like another car magazine I'm going to need to buy when I get back to the UK. I wonder if we spoke to the editors and linked to their websites, whether they'd let RR reproduce articles in the resource section? I would think it'd be in their vested interest and would be a great way of archiving the articles for prosperity. As a writer I can sympathise with both sides when it comes to inaccuracies. I've been guilty of it before myself, often stuff's written on deadline or in the middle of the night, and when I do send stuff off to be checked by an owner or club it often takes ages to come back and I've also seen stuff reproduced before it's been printed when doing that. Big no no. Then of course it has to pass through a sub-editor, a large majority of whom in one publishing house I deal with have very little or no car based knowledge. Shocking really given the subject matter they're dealing with, but if they know they're stuff then they're generally a writer...
