This thread has two parts to it, one which people may find interesting, and one which is a fairly self serving question. Not sure if it belongs in general board, but I'm sure someone will move it if not.
I was looking at my car a while ago and the stickers I had quickly put on the rear quarter window. One representing the mustang club that helps source so many parts for my car so far, and the other being the obligatory RR sticker
Now, these don't really fit with the style of the rest of the car. They're fine at the moment, but further down the line it would be nice to have everything on the car matching. As this is an '81/82 car, all stickers on it should be either from the eighties or have an eighties style that matches the rest of the car.
So I had an idea, and started sketching up some ideas for our mustang club. Fox mustangs went from 79-93, so fall pretty much in either the 80s or 90s style, therefore I sketched up ideas for both of these graphical ideas, to replace the existing stickers on the side of my car or for someone with for example, a '91 model.
This recieved quite a lot of positive reception on the clubs facebook page, so I started to draw up a design digitally. It's taken a while due to ongoing work on the car, but the weather this week has kept me indoors and allowed me to finish the 80s one. I moved from the rectangular shape to one that fits exactly in the sideglass for my car (although I still need to draw up a slightly different one for those with the other bodyshape), replacing both stickers on there at the moment.
Self serving question:
Does anyone know any good sticker companies that will be able to print onto a gloss vinyl for exterior use on a car?
Questions to the wider RR audience:
What do you think?
Anyone else got any retro style stickers (i've seen a few 70s ones) on their cars?
Any favourite 70s/80s/90s graphics or car stickers?
Is there scope to develop more stickers in a retro style? Would be nice to have a few on mine
I'll kick off discussion with some of the ones I've seen on japanese nostalgic car, which I think some people have managed to ship over to the uk...
It would ultimately be nice to replace the Retro Rides sticker on my car as well. I guess this is a question for admin, but can we have a 70s/80s style RR sticker made up? Or is the existing one (which by the way I'm not saying there is anything wrong with!) gospel and the only one possibly suitable for us?
