Hmm well what's new... I used this headlamp for my reflector fix 'how-to' over on clubcento, it's a bit of a state but going to restore it, needs a lick of paint, the reflector has lost its chrome, but these are getting rare and I'd like a spare, will update when it's done! Also got some new clips as when I changed the lamp the other day these were totally ruined... (just hope the putty stuff I used as a temp fix hasn't hardened too much to get off lol) And talking on new yellow things... TOSSDAMPERS! woop Shortened gas struts Hope to mock up the golf splitter tomorrow, see how she sits!

Made some more progress over the weekend. First off I junked that poop bit of chicken wire someone made a grille out of, fed up with slicing my finger every time I want to open the bonnet! Then I did the splitter... This is how we mocked it up by chance at the scrapyard where the yellow cinq and the golf were..the corner radius is perfect! There was a big gap caused by the mounting plugs on the splitter and the small lip on the bottom of the bumper, so the splitter would need to be trimmed... Something about using a sledgehammer to crack a nut lol..also wrapped my legs in bags cos of melted plastic napalm chunks!!! Trimmed and untrimmed... Bonded and screwed (screws can hopefully come back out but need to be there for a bit...they are hidden from view once on the car anyway as it tucks under the bumper rather than jutting out...) Found a leak in my rad while that was drying...brand new rad is £20 on ebay tho lol...ace! Annoyingly the finished product is nearly invisible in these pics as it tucks under into the shadow of the car, looks neat in the flesh tho Will try and get some that show it better!

Cheers Small update, could be a bigger one but once again I failed at taking work in progress pics... New shorter shocks on, ride much improved, less crashy, turn in is nicer too, and cheeky yellow pokey-out bits at the rear Also Doge happened, you either get it or not lol... More to come!

Thanks guys Such Fiat! Many horsepower! Wow! Cracking little motor. I have a new shape Panda but I'm seriously considering replacing it with a Cinquecento Sporting as my daily… i love small Fiats! Find one quickly...they are getting very scarce...around 6 cinqs on all of ebay at any one time at the mo! I do like the new Pandas though especially the 100hp and the little 4x4...if I had to buy a newer car a 100hp would be high on the list.

Right well a fair amount happened but no updates... I was getting the car ready before the Gathering and noticed that the orange trim all sunfaded terribly, so I did it black, and also did the hideous, shonky bravo wheels to match (it made me like them slightly more so not totally wasted effort) Had I added the spotlights yet too? If not...added some spotlights! Only LED daytime things, notice the extra bit at night though, headlamps aren't this cars strongpoint... Had big cleanups too, engine bay, loads of bufty bits, got no pics and they would probably bore you anyway...so pre RRG she sat like this... The time came for the Gathering, after missing out on the hill at Prescott I was more than keen to get on, so needless to say was also both flattered and excited to hear that Mr HoTWire himself would like to see a cinq chug its way up the hallowed hill of Shelsley... So...off I popped (Thanks and credit to anyone that got a pic of me) The weekend aside from that was also amazing, but sharing the hill with the level of machinery there, in my little deathbox, just blew my mind, So thanks, again. Then I got home, and the plans for my cinq had been cemented in my head, as much as I would love a smooth, mega low, euro looking one, I have always erred toward motorsport styled cars, and I can always buy another one if I'm that bothered haha, but this one is going a bit more hardcore... Whilst recovering from the gathering I noticed the most barryboy cinq I had ever seen in my life (never got pics, wish I had, badboy bonnet, m3 mirrors, just awful) near me being broken, and although I cannot seem to portray this idea to anyone, an idea formed using the front bumper...so I went and got it... Sooooo...yeah!!! BUT if you look beyond the mesh, rotten spots and metalflake black paint, its basically an abarth bumper with an added huge splitter... Plan is paint the 'bumper' section body coloured, the 'splitter' that also curves nicely up the side satin black, and then run some air ducting (for my epic race spec brakes, yeah yeah I know lol)from the fog holes... Then, just as my wallet thought it was safe, mylittletony tagged me in some maserati rims that whitz was selling, so obviously that needed to happen, going from 5.5 width Et43 (43, seriously?!) to 6.5 et8...winning! Need some buffing, of course So...the future, well... Staying rally look on these wheels etc through winter, whilst tickling away at things, then next year, bumper, wheels, lose as much more weight as possible, a cage is on the way, a hydro handbrake (for steep hills and that ) and hopefully a 1.4!!! Nearest thing I can find in the metal is this: I would want standard arches though, not keen on the nova-esque ones! Anyway, essay over, as you were!

New Years resolution... Pull my finger out and finish the car! I have nearly 3 pallets of stuff waiting to go on this now, it is just always being used! In the meantime...1st job of the year was to split up my spare inlet mani and throttle body into this... As there is a guy on Fiat Forum who then works his magic, machines and sleeves to give you this... a 40 (rather than 30) mm throttle body...nice! Many many more updates to come soon

Just need to find a '75' Cam now! Any progress with the bumper and Maser wheels? They are next on the hit list! I have been unfathomably slack with progress, but i did get a dremel for Christmas which will help haha. My mojo well and truly returned mid-December for some reason...had a house move and things between then and the Gathering and just plodded along. As for the cam, P75 would be ok, but the polish Zloty is a deceptive thing, have been looking at race cams over there which were like 1100 Zloty...finally translated that into sterling and we are talking mid 200's...soooo yeah that may happen I might commit the ultimate sin and paint the maser' wheels...eek.

You thought of going for a 16v engine at any point? The difference between 1242 8v and 1242 16v is mad!

You thought of going for a 16v engine at any point? The difference between 1242 8v and 1242 16v is mad! Yeah it has crossed my mind, once / if this engine expires. I think the 16v is around 80bhp standard, obviously it would then mod to a fair more, but hopefully mine will be mid 80's once the next few tweaks are done (throttle body, exhaust mani, some form of better cam) so will stick with it for a bit! The only other bonus is the turn-key nature of the 8V, runs on the original ECU and everything, it's just easy... We'll see - I hope it will just keep evolving as it goes

Thing is if youre thinking of going 16v you might as well use the 1368 as its pretty much the same engine but with 20 or so more bhp.
I had a 1108 seicento sporting, a 1242 8v cinq and a 1242 16v mk1 punto sporting, have yet to drive one with a 1368 but I imagine circa 110 bhp in a cento would be buckets of fun!

Agreed on both counts! stealthstylz is currently building one that'll have about 180bhp, but that's not FIAT powered So I dug the bumper out - I forgot how awful it looks - I do have a plan that involves it not looking as poo - at least in my vision ... it's going to hit everything with that jutting chin - I imagine I'll regret it...same as the solid plastic bucket seat I just ordered...

That bumper is horrific. I want one lol. It is an abomination - the car it came off made me do a sick in my mouth - but that's kinda why I like it haha. Underneath the stickers and sparkly fairground paint its actually an abarth-ish bumper with a feck off splitter added... Like this... Mixed with this... And if that's not a winning combo then i don't know what is!
