BEng Automotive Engineer here - air will flow into both the grille AND scuttle, and out from under the car. The scuttle is a lovely area of high pressure, which is why 99.999% of all modern cars feed the cabin blowers from there. Anyway, end of argument. I love Project Binky - even the cheesy humour. Better than most tosh on the tv by a long shot!

...and was fantastic as always. The wee bit after the credits with the 'brrm-brrm-chew-chew' noises made it for me..

That was so cool - meatier than the previous episodes. Guess they had more material to work with due to the long gap since episode ten. Just wish they had made it a bit longer. Literally can't wait until early Feb/March/April now.

What the numberplate says is completely irrelevant to me. I thought that stigma had been lost long ago. It'll be batcr*p crazy regardless.

Just looking at the "radically modified" section on the dvla website would suggest Binky may keep the Toyota registration based on the points system, I thought there was enough new metal in it to get a brand new reg, I hope it doesn't get a Q It should be on a Q-plate, if indeed they even plan to make it road legal. There is no scenario where is could retain the Celica reg number due to the Mini shell being used. 5 point of the 8 point minimum MUST be from the shell of the car relating to the VRM. So Celica shell for the Celica reg, Mini shell for the Mini reg. However, there aren't enough relevant Mini parts remaining to make up the 8 points either. An age-related plate can be applied if only one donor car source has been used, which would apply in this instance but ONLY if being used in a brand new recognised manufacturer of kit car. Transposing parts into a second-hand shell doesn't qualify. A Brand New registration number can only be applied if the vehicle conforms to full Type Approval of a mass-produced car, which means it is required to conform to all the latest Safety Regs (so airbags throughout, pedestrian safety testing), latest Euro emission Regs etc, so there's no chance a Mini body with no airbags and a 20-year old Celica engine is going to pass those. So given the lack of points accrued through the Radically Altered Vehicle scheme, the only remaining option is BIVA. As had already been stated, the application of a Q-plate shouldn't have the negative stigma anymore. Anyone who has managed to get a car to pass the BIVA test should wear their Q-plate with pride.
