on the subject of ramps: I have a pit in my garage with an interior door covering it up Damned if am going down there though with all those creatures! V tempted to build some big rugged ramps. still would not trust my handywork though, safe than sorry I guess some wheels or stand underneath cant hurt can they? Get ur ass down that pit!! I would love one and you don't even use it!! While multi tasking Saturday, thought i'd have a look at whats luking down there! this is meant to be the way down.. that is an interior door, measure twice, drive once! 'stairway' again! I think I'm looking down there..... ...Oh Globbits! Not ideal but not riddled with wierd things either, I would not use teh 'stairway' but would use ladders and work on front or back,,, Maybe! anyone else got one or use one? would you dare go down there? ;D

Looks fine to me, couple of rubble sacks and a shovel, 5 minute job, if theres enough standing room then chuck a bit of concrete down in the bottom. Sorted

LOLz what is it with dads and accidents! ;D Talking of 'Papa don't preach' He had a propper one built when he dug up a new garage extension *underground*! it was a nice wide, long squared off affair with some fluorsent lights, perfect! Since then I have had a variety of mucky employments including pulling ceilings down in shagged hoses, wrestling Ivy, and digging massive holes. so seems a bit crazy I think it was the festering unkown. Reeto, ready for fun now. Bin, Lights, Action!

looks like corrugated iron was used for shuttering, not asbestos roof sheets.
i've been in sh1ttier holes TBH, that looks a delight compared to some of the drains i've cleared in my time.

Maybe it isnt asbestos sheeting or corrugated iron, it might just be fancy rippled concrete installed by the original constructor of the pit who I don't know perhaps had a fondness for Crinkle Cut Seabrook crisps and wanted to immortalize them in the walls of a pit?
