I haven't shown my face around here for a few months but now I'll try to make up for it with some pictures. Some of you might know I'm a bit of a wanna-be photographer. Well in October last year I was recruited by Retro Ford to shoot this Granada and it's just appeared in the current issue. And it's also my first ever cover shot which I'm pretty chuffed with. This car belongs to Mark Robertson from Whitley Bay. It's a super rare 2 door model imported from Germany and it's running a Ford 5.7 V8 with a T5 box. It looks amazing and it makes all the right noises. Everyone who's seen these pictures has commented that they've never even seen one before. Lots of people never realised that 2 door Granada's existed so I'll share a few pictures with you. If you want more pics and the full spec it's in the new Retro Ford which I think is out in a couple of days. Any thoughts??

Always wanted a 2 door Mk1, and that one is lovely, but does need hitting with a lowering stick,

I like it...I'm one of the people who didn't realise they did a 2 door Mk1 Granada...except for the coupe version of course.

Nice work. I never knew about these, just the coupe version pictured above. Will it be out and about this summer? too high wheels look to big and wrong style for the car but the rest want want want When you build yours you should put different wheels and ride height on it.

Will it be out and about this summer? Apparently he gets out and about to a few local meets like the Metro Centre and the OK Diner. He's certainly not scared to drive it.

Stunning. I love that. As others have said, I didn't realise Ford built a 2 door 'loon.

Must be honest, the wheels don't quite work for me but what an absolute honey. Ive always loved the lines of the mk1 saloon and having 2 doors really suits it, the 2 tone interior really works for me too

Hi All, Always liked the 2 door Granadas. Not many people seem to know they exist. They were all povo spec models from Europe. They also did a mk2, my favorite, see below.

Sweet the rear window is very Taunus looking (i spose it would wouldn't it ), if you look at the rear quaters on the European coupes they are differant to the UK ones, differant swage line.

Do you know if he built that himself, there was a one of these being built in Brett's place(the Classic Ford Breaker in Morpeth)It seems unlikely there'd be two of them in the North East but I'm sure that guy was called Darren

Beautiful car and really nice photography! Can I be cheeky and ask where the beach huts are? Will be looking for some decent backdrops for some shots of the Escort once the sun comes out.

Yes this car was built by someone called Darren. He sold it due to some personal issues and Mark snapped it up as he'd had his eyes on it from day one.
The beach huts are on Blyth seafront. I couldn't resist it as a backdrop when I saw it. We were lucky with the weather as well it was beautiful.

I've seen this car in the flesh several times and it is an absolute beauty, just wish it was a tad lower.
