Oh really, just been talking with him. Never had a contact issue.
In closer inspection. I'm not happy with the mating surface of the block really, the cosmetics need the best surface possible to seal properly, there are areas of pitting, whilst it's at this stage and waiting for parts I'll get it back to the machine shop, also he heads will be getting a little work in the throats son may as well go back with them.

Great to see the updates on this!
Is the place you're having the machining work done familiar with the 1UZ with regards port work then? Or just a clean up?

If you still have not got the studs let me know, I think mine came within 10 days. I know there was a clearance issue on the even bank but that might just be for the VVTI engine.

Doesn't seem to be any support for the 1uz over here for tuning parts.
Having a Google around tonight and the evidence for what a stock motor can support is all over the place and a lot of it a long time ago using the factory Ecu .

Made 400whp at 12 psi with just water in my spray kit today . No issues and the water really keeps everything nice and cool . Water temps never got above 82c all day

Mate this place sells them; h-tune.co.uk/eagle-h-beam-rods-full-set/ @ £664.99 but they don't come as standard with ARP 2000 bolts. I got mine form the states as well with the 2000 bolts, which ups them to handle 200bhp each. |

Stock cams are very Mild so at some point you start to rely on boost pressure to shove the mass through the engine . I'm only making 110 per litre at 10-1 Compression , how that translates to running at 8.5 or whatever I don't know . I didn't get to drive it after the last session but the jump from 360-440 is pretty hairy especially with track day tyres on it now . I'd imagine 1.5 bar is going to be in the 600,s if the turbo is up to the job

Got the rods from h-tune with free delivery and a discount code for 2.5% off. I have a good source for arp stuff so may upgrade but to be honest I think the setup is enough. These were dropped off tonight too! It's all happening at the moment  |
