I just looked them up, they look just like PEC.
Personally I would advise using someone like Robson, carillo etc, they'll cost a little bit more, but leagues apart in design and quality control.

There has been a lot of research in all the rods that are availale. Some are terrible, prob worse than stock which is pointless. The spool ones have come up trumps with xray testings and decent weigh matching. Some like the cheap ones ate so far out and roughly finished. I'm no skinlfint so will be doing my research fully before going ahead with anything as its a big outlay, but done the right way.

Very nice project, The Manta A's are one of my favorites. I looked at couple before I bought my Monza but for the money I had to spend couldn't get a good A. Keep up the great work. Mine too! Came very close buying one when I was 16 back in the medieval times, the seller sold it 15mins before I got there to inspect the car. Have you posted any info about your Monza?

I went for Wiseco custom made pistons a bit more expensive than the Ross but you get what you pay for. I did hear a lot about tolerance issues with the Ross and that they were a bit too low compression to drive with no boost. If you are interested in Wiseco they should still have my design and they were either 9 or 9.5 CR. Rods wise i went for the Eagle H beam real Eagle not the knock off ones. I also went for the upgraded ARP 2000 bolts. It all came to about $1800 including shipping to the uk. I did see a company selling over here at a good price h-tune.co.uk/eagle-h-beam-rods-full-set/. £664.99 for the set

yes, I have read up on the Ross being a bit tough when cold but once warmed up no probs. As I'm supercharged I'll be boosted constantly, so I figured ahouldnet be a prob be a problem.
Thanks for the link, I've been told eagle are another one not to go for!? Sometimes too may opinions, hard facts are ones I go by.

I was told that about the Eagle rods and they will bend and all mostly bad stories. However, they all were building V8 dragster engines knocking out over 2500bhp. when i mentioned that i was only going to use about 1.5-2 bar boost they said they will be fine, and very good valve they happily sold me them. One thing they said with the ARP 2000 bolts they will "only" be good for 200 bhp each. So providing you not going over 1500 bhp they should be fine.
Other wise the rods aren't that cheap.

1200 hp haha. I wouldn't dare, that's well beyond the drivetrain limits. 800 is more than enough!!

Yeah, retrorides.proboards.com/post/1886878/threadnot updated for some time as I've done very little to it other than drive it and normal servicing.

I can vouch for the Farndon rods, as that is what are in my BOA v6 They were purchased many many years ago and I think were something like 175quid a go. And they also drilled the side of the rods for the under piston squirters as per the original Cologne rods too

I have them in my own engine too, got a drawing for my personal rod spec was told to use them by a race engine builder, not a seller of rods, the guy that took the picture I posted as it happens.

Are you using two of ARP 203-5407 shop.arrowprecision.com/toyota-1-8l-2zzge-dohc-4-cyl-main-stud-kit.htmlArrow is a great supplier but they should only cost you about £83 a set. You might have to machine one of the heads to get the cam nut clearance. Have you got a new water pump to put on. I got a full MLS heads gasket kit an pump from the States as it was cheaper, a lot cheaper. If you interested I'm trying to get a trade account from ASNu for injectors.

I'm back on the Dyno Tuesday with the bigger injectors to try it at 12 psi with the water meth activated this time . Should be around 125hp per litre which I don't think is a big ask but I've got a spare block now if it goes tits up . I've used pec rods in a few Saab engines and apart from needing a good de burr and check over haven't had any problems running 200+ hp per litre up to 7000 rpm with them
