Both cars have undergone some changes since these pics. The 309 now has refurbed wheels and a dark anthracite paint on them. Also 309gti door stripes / bump strips. The 405 has diffrent bonnet and front bumper yet to be painted. Spent a small fortune on this car.

Recognise you from the 309 forum, slightly more active over here! £09 is looking lovely as usual, thought you were trying to shift the 405? Glad you haven't!

Engine was rebuilt whilst the rest of the car was getting sorted Internals were replaced along with head gasket and new bolts countless other things were renewed. Didnt need a lot of welding apart from strut housings and front cross member Once this was all done the engine bay was repainted and engine fitted. Will add more pics and info in the next couple of days..

Starting to iron out the teething problems.. Drive shaft oil seals have started to weep a bit.. Will replace them asap..don't want to blow another transfere box got none left after this one..will have to get my other one sent of for rebuild.. Electric fans wont kick in now.. have to check fittings and sensors.. i know the motors work ok. But on the up side the self adjusting suspension seems to be working as it should now.. It had a funny habbit of either dropping the car on its Or sticking it in the air ..as and when it pleased. But now it goes up on the button and back down and rests where it should.. If anyone has any 405 x4 bits let me know Thanks

Ohh curse word a new tyre needed me thinks. When the offending item was removed i found it to be a large piece of amber lens. Had to drive a couple of miles on flat as spare didnt have a tyre on ( Dose now though ) Ready for the next puncture.

Throwing a few ideas around my head for my 2 rides for 2014..looking to buy a set of 106/205 rally steels for the 309..refurb them back to original white..lower the reat to come in line with the front sort out the couple little dents on the body and a full repaint with new PTS grafix.
New door cards from a goodwood and some flocking to dashboard..some fresh seats..cherry on top will be a bit of an upgrade in the enginbay..possibly a 1.6 16v saxo lump. Some better stopping power with a brake upgrade..
The 405mi16 however is fairly straight forward Full paint in the metallic regency red..sort the front fog lamps..refurb the wheels back to original shade of silver With a new set of rubber.. A guy i know has a set of black"n"chrome lenzos I can have cheap..ford fit so will need spacers.. Could be tempted Needless to say we gonna be busy..

Ok so the 309 is pretty damn nice, but I have huge envy over a Phase 1 405 Mi16... even more so a x4! Seriously rare! I'm always vaguely hoping a nice Phase 1 will turn up at a reasonable price but they're just not out there!

My old black gti .. beleived to be locked up in a garage in telford somewhere. I spent a small fortune on this one..the day i traded it away i should of had my ass kicked Traded it for what i thought was a very good 309 dt looked a million dollars inside and out. 10 mile up the road on a bitter cold winters day the heater matrix bust..soaked the carpets and just about fried the engine..while my son and me nearly froze to death.

This is the 309dt i traded my black one for..it was a very tidy car but let me down straight away..needless to say i fixed it. Ran it and was spot on after that....then seen the 405 advertised Got that..the 309 changed hands twice after that and is now somewhere up cramlington or that way on... may do a check on it to see if its taxed or sorn..
