Sorry for the lack of updates people, i really need to invest in a computer! i now have the engine in mine, more or less wired up just a couple of things I'm not sure about if anyone can help?
First off i cant seem to figure out where this came from
Now I'm not sure what this thing is for? i have unpicked and unplugged all of the engine looms and put them straight into the petrol car, this was not part of it however 1 plug did go into the bottom of it, is this important :/
it is located near the driver side shocker top.

After having a few days scratching my head and wanting to give in with the wiring i finally got the whole engine bay looms swapped over, all of which just unplugged from the fuse box in the end and plugged straight into the petrol. the only real pain was the glow plug loom.
This went through the passengers side of the bulk head and ran through the main harness up to the fuse box, which meant dash out and following each wire through the loom & finding out where it went... i can assure you that this was no fun at all!
Had to make myself a clock removal tool which worked surprisingly well

After all this i could finally put the engine in its new home
Once the engine was in i had to try and turn it over just to see if that worked, thankfully it turned over no problem.
I am now a little confused with the vac system, i have managed to swap over most of the lines but there is 1 brown pipe that goes to the engine and then into a split that i am a little confused about, the under bonnet part is easy however the green pipe that comes out of that split goes from the bulkhead
To this box on the heater box
can anybody tell me what this is? and if i need swap the whole vac system over? The cause of some of my problems is that the donor has self levelling suspension & air con and with it being a facelift some things are slightly different.
Swapping the vac system would be a nightmare as the donor has all sorts of components to it that mine has not.
This is it with all the diesel vac pipes in, the wire pipe that is plugged into a sort of white manifold is for the rear headrest drop which the estate doesn't have, not quite sure how I'm going to plumb that in :s
