"If you walk away from your car after you've parked it up and don't turn around to look at it as you walk away, you own the wrong car" The quote of the year. It is a good one... although to be fair, I usually look back at my car out of fear to check the electrics haven't caught fire or one of the headlights hasn't got stuck up again rather than to admire it

My Nova has been in our family for a little over 10 years now and used to be my wife's daily driver, she used it every day and we took it all over the country. It turned over 100,000 miles on her 30th birthday.
Sadly my wife can no longer drive as her health is bad, very bad. So I preserve this little car as we have had so many happy memories with it.
My son, who is only 5 has asked if he can have the Nova when he grows up, so I see it as a sort of heirloom for him from his mum that I am taking good care of in the meantime.

Love at first sight! For the C and the coupe. I agree with the above if you don't look back whenever you leave them you have the wrong car!

It's incredibly comfortable, smooth, quiet and if it had a telly, it'd be like driving my lounge. And I've still not seen another, of any ilk, since I've had it, which makes it rarer than Porsche 911s, Audi R8s, Lamborghini Gallardos, various types of Ferraris and other exotica. I feel a bit like being a guardian of an historical artifact, it's down to me to look after it and keep it in the manner which it has been treated so far.

I bought the Landy as a wreck and put it back together with my hands and some spanners. It's almost 62 years old, will do whatever I ask it to do and will even touch 100mph with the original 4-speed crash box.
And the Capri? It was free, you don't see them about much and it's still a match for my mates in their Zetec S Fiestas.

"what is it about your retro ride that makes it "special"?" 200 hp and 1050kgs, where there used to be 80 hp and 1250kgs. Haha PLEASE SHOW PICS! Mine is the blue one.

I myself don't love the feel of newer cars so plasticy Just the basics please the less electronics the less stuff that breaks . Love driving my beetle because its just so simple and self-fixable also love this for being stupid low The granadas i had just the same easy to fix drive very nice for a car made in the 80,s . Granadas have a level of comfort a newer car will never reach for me . roadtrip to spain new car or granny ? Granny every day all day

I like my 205 because it gets a lot of nice comments from people and it goes like stink with a V6 in it! I've kept up with a lot of high power cars in it!

"If you walk away from your car after you've parked it up and don't turn around to look at it as you walk away, you own the wrong car" On a similar theme, the first thing I do when I get out of bed is look out of the window at it. Partly to make sure it hasn't been nicked, but...

It's special because I know it'll be worth it, worth all the money and time put into it. I sold a fully functioning, great condition '03 Fiesta to get my bodged together heap of beige filler that is the Toledo, but somehow that decision still makes perfect sense to me! It'll get there..one day..

I totally appreciate all of these comments,
I think being in to cars is in people's DNA, I personally couldn't imagine my life without my lifelong appreciation of all things car related!

Mine is special because it was made the year i was born, 86. For 27 years the v5 has been registered to the same surname, Knight. It has been in daily use for all bar 5 of those 27 years, its the first car i did an engine swap on, the first car i drove on the road, there are only 11 of its type still registered on the road, its been my companion on many adventures and most importantly its mine Haha.

In the ten years i've had it, i've completely evolved it to the car it is now. It looks much the same, as I like the factory look, but technically i've tuned every function to be just how I like it. Its so much fun to drive, its insanely addictive. Its quick, when I can get traction, but the best thing is that its fun at any speed. Even being stuck in heavy traffic. Its so responsive, after all this time its hard not to play with the throttle for the sake of it. And the noise.. I've driven a lot of modern stuff since, power assisted controls, weighty things, all dull, lifeless, boring in comparison to this. And weighing less than 730kgs its even great on fuel.

An amazing story for an amazing car! I'd absolutely love a passenger ride in that beauty!?
