... that things like this are beginning to appeal to me? Really tempted now to get an oldish smallish 'van. Especially now that the little people are a bit bigger. And considering Mrs Pog doesn't 'do' tents. And now the show season is upon us.... But surely putting a hitch on my classic / retro steeds would be a heinous crime, no? Someone, please talk me out of it, before I start ordering stuff from the innovations catalog, watching countdown, thinking a trip to a garden centre is exciting, and of course sitting in my own p1ss.

You need to do that Pog!
Suitably retro 'van on the back of the minx, nice swan neck tow bar (possibly removable?), it needs to be done!

Age probably has something to do with it but then it's also a way of forcing getting the whole family involved in your obsession hobby. You just need to make sure you re-decorate it tastefully - the interiors of any camping machine are an easy way of dating the onwers

Pog, w.t.f! Seriously - slap yourself one. Before you have extended wing mirrors and are used to your whip driving about with the on the floor and it's nose pointing at the sky.

Dude, you know where I stand on caravans. Once we've finished the bus and sold that on we'll probably look at getting another caravan for behind the square. They absolutely rock, stuff what the 'haters' say! Plus you're such a traveller you'd suit a caravan.

I have been looking at Caravans for a little while. I want to live up Carry-on-Camping. A mate has a early 80s one which is all beige and brown and formica inside. I thought caravans were wack and then I went in his and I was getting the vibe.
I have a set of NOS 60's extending tow mirrors ready to fit on whatever.
Shonky old tow bars on box section home made mounts, FTW, ol skool.
Now worse than frikkin roof racks. Roof roacks smell of pish and werthers originals more than caravans do.

Sorry I agree with tigran on this one. Sometimes those big American chrome ones look kinda cool but then I have to remind myself its still a bloody caravan

Those chrome fairground 'vans are the tits. 'Bling' is so not a new thing. A be-finned & shiney van being pulled about by a Bedford J-type pick-up. That's where it's at. You want to buy any pegs / lucky heather / tarmac yer drive etc. ;D

Lumbered with caravanning holidays, for evAr, .............. I now have a little embarrassing perversion towards caravans too. Thanks goodness I have nowhere to keep one. phew or maybe I do tenting is keeping it real, but caravanning, you can actually compose ya self in a morning if fitted with mod cons, and pitch up in the dark.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Its the formica vibe. It was like being in someone's kitchen when they were Kitch-ens. I just needed a copy of H&E and some very weak orange squash and I was there bro.
Mark, you can get caravan standing for like £2 a week most places. Ask about.

I used to go camping alot but one I tried a caravan that was it. Its like having your own mobile hotel room, cold beers, t.v e.t.c they're not as slow and annoying as they used to be either.

oh, they will be when towed by an Austin Cambridge or Hillman Minx though Me and a mate are always on about getting one for shows. no more queueing up for over priced tea, coffee, burgers or narrrrsty toilets. Just nip back to the van for a brew and custard creams.
