Yes yes yes. . . A big want of mine of some time, perhaps I should return to the triumph fold for now.

I'd love some low offset jdm rims on my tolly but the PCD is a bi-itch and there is no room for adapters.

Have to agree although I may be biased as I'm now on number 12 with 13 + 14 waiting in the wings. That Gold one above thats currently on Ebay was mine until last year. I sold it to the chap selling it now. Have a pic of my current Sprint in splendid Vermilion Red (or 70's Orange)

This might be a little pedantic but I think his is a Tolly with a Dolly front clip? Totally agree with the sentiments though, I've always been a fan and actually there are quite a few older British cars that are getting the JDMY treatment which are really doing it for me at the moment. Things like Rich's MG for example. Fantastic to see.

I really need to own a Triumph at some point! Though I'm not sure how I'm going to manage it whilst the Scimitar is on the drive.

The Dolomite/Toledo is a great car... I've had my Toledo for a couple of years now and I love it!
I think a 'Rising Sun' inspired bit of trickery would look fantastic on one of these and I think someone out there needs to make it happen pretty darn quickly...
As well as looking good these Triumphs are still very reasonably priced so if sometinh needs to be done, something needs to be done right away before it is too late...!!!

I really like them- if I didn't have the Marina I'd have a Dolly. A friend has one and they are really nice cars to drive, lots of bits are available (including tuning bits & bobs, lowering kits etc) and they are of course coils all round. The 1850 still has a fair amount of go and is a lot cheaper than a Sprint. And they do look very nice indeed with a few choice mods Proximity of rear door to arch and the styling bulge coming back off the rear arch mean sticking arches on takes a little more skill than it'd first appear though. And the PCD is silly.

Mine is a Toledo as Emdee says. All outer panels are shared, it's just the headlamp mounting that allows switching from square to twin. Personally, I'm not a fan of the Dolly rear, that is why a Sprinted Toledo for me is the best option.
They don't like being lowered though - just because of ground clearance issues.
The PCD Isn't a dealbreaker. Sprintspeed make the necessary bits to allow Ford PCD wheels to be fitted. They also do the bubble arch kit.
If I ever put another engine in, which I felt had the power to back up the look, I'd be tempted to go bubble arches - no rear door issues on the 2 door :-)
I consider them more of the British 02, rather than a 510 though tbh....

Thanks Al.. Is the Toledo FWD? Isn't one of them FWD? Ahh but the 02 is the German 510

I'd love a Dolly. My old maths teacher at senior school had an orange sprint and that put me on the trail. I'll be itching to change cars come the spring and a Dolly is just behind a Porsche 924 as the next motor.

Triumph 1300 predecessor to Toledo was FWD IIRC Yes; I gather the 1500 was FWD. I was looking for a Dolly/Toledo last time I was in the market for a car, but I decided against because I thought they were all RWD (I really needed FWD, because my village is at the top of a hill, accessible only by a tiny lane that is never gritted in winter. RWD cars have a big problem getting here for 2 or 3 months a year). Now I know that I could have had a FWD Dolly I'm really curse-worded off because I would love to build something like the magnificent machines pictured up-thread^. Next time...

It's the sump and sub frame that cause the most problems.... Somewhat more difficult to deal with This doesn't sit that low really : In fact a bunch of those up there ^^^ are sitting relatively* high on modern larger wheels. I wonder if some suitable Image split rims could be purchased in the correct PCD to save on adapters etc. *relative to the very first 510 at least

Gotta admit I've got a soft spot for Dollys, of all the british saloons of this sort of era they have the most redeeming features to me. The 2 door Toledos look great with the Dolly front. I'm also loving the JDM look on them, would love to see one on Longchamps or SSR mk2s. I was looking for a Dolly when my 155 v6 came up instead, would still like to try one one day
